RESOLUTION NO. 2014-005 ADOPTED January 14, 2014
A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE TOWN CODE, PART TWO,
(TOWN CODE), CHAPTER 2 ADMINISTRATION; ARTICLE V
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS; SECTION 2-193 THROUGH SECTION
2-232 ADJUSTING COMPENSATION FOR COMMISSIONS;
CHANGING COUNCIL LIAISON REQUIREMENTS; ADJUSTING THE
DUTIES OF THE TECHOLOGY AND COMMUNICATION
COMMISSION; EXTENDING THE "NO MORE THAN TWO
COMMITTEES" LIMITATION FROM THE SRTC TO ALL
COMMISSIONS.
WHEREAS, Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, Section 15.2-1411, authorizes the
governing body of any locality to appoint advisory boards, committees and commissions; and
WHEREAS,the Leesburg Town Code, Part 2, Chapter 2, Article 5, Divisions 1 and 2
establish and define certain boards, committees and commissions to advise the town council; and
WHEREAS, boards, committees and commissions duties and attendance should be more
clearly defined and it may be necessary for compensation of board and commission members to be
adjusted; and
THEREFORE RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
amendments to the Town Code shall be initiated to:
1. Adjust the duties of the Technology and Communication Commission; and
2. Correct scrivener's errors; and
3. Adjust compensation of any and/or all boards, committees and commissions as directed
by Town Council; and
4. Change council liaison requirements; and
5. Add the Standing Residential Traffic Committee (SRTC) into the Town Code; and
6. Extend"no more than two committees" limitation from the SRTC to all of the
commissions.

Town staff shall advertise amendments to the Town Code to effectuate the changes.
