• MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:05 PM BY DANA CONDIT
• Secretary Position: Faythe Ellis nominated Sandra Godwin for the position of
secretary, since Joyce Davis is no longer on the committee. Approved
unanimously by all present.
• Finances: Operating Budget has $2590.15 of which $750 will be paid to the
miller in the spring for his salary. Gifts and Donations has $3766.88
• Mills and Gills: Faythe reported that the festival was a good first try. The
turnout was good despite the 3 inches of rain. Involvement of the Historical
Society and the Museum of Natural History with the festival was discussed. Dana
suggested we include both groups again, despite MNH's limited involvement for
2009.
Current Mill Site improvements: There was discussion among the members
about the current roadwork improvements going on at the mill site. The stone
wall is being rebuilt to continue the current wall at the parking area around the
corner to the west. Dana will check with Sue Levin the town planner about
parking signage, and with the police chief about a "speeding light".
Pond Dam: Chris Miller applied for an extension for $15K grant from Fish
America to repair the length of the dam at the pond as well as correct mistakes
from the work that was done in 1968.
Bricks: The entire walkway needs to be repaved with modular paving bricks.
Dana will coordinate with volunteers to repave the walkway near the mill, but the
walkway on the herring run side will go out to bid.
• Invasive Plants: Per Dana, Seth Wilkinson said he could come up with a plan,
explaining what is currently growing in the valley, for $1200. Dana also said
Russ Kleekamp told him there might be a person involved with the current
renovation project that could take care of it.
• Dave Rogers: Dave Rogers contacted Dana wanting to plant daffodil bulbs at the
Christmas tree and on top of the stone wall. Dana will visit with him and send
Dave to the Board of Selectmen if he is interested in joining the Mill Sites
committee. He is a landscaper who lives near the mill.
• New Mill progress plans: The committee reviewed the drawings on the progress
plans for the renovation to the actual millworks. Design work done to date was
ok'd by the committee and now will move forward.
• Bill for $4100-TTL Architects: Bill Todd made a motion that we authorize
Charlie Sumner to pay the bill for design work to date. Sandra Godwin seconded
it.
• Next meeting: The next meeting is set for Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
• Dates for 2010 include: Opening Date for the mill - 6/26/10
Indian Pudding Parry - 7/24/ 10

The miller and his family will be away Saturday 7/17/10
• Grist Mill: The miller, Stan Godwin, expressed an interest to set up electric
candles in the windows of the Grist Mill for the holiday season. The committee
approved this idea. Stan also mentioned he would order the 100 duds for $300-
400 to resell at the price of $10 each if that was still agreeable to the committee.
• Adjournment: Faythe Ellis motioned to adjourn, seconded by Bill Todd. The
meeting adjourned at 9 pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Sandra Godwin Secretary
