TOWN OF BREWSTER MINUTES OF PLANNING BOARD
Work Session
Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 6:30 P.M.
Brewster Town Office Building
Chairman Bugle convened the Planning Board work session at 6:30 prn in the Brewster Town Office
Building with members Taylor, Pierce and Barnard.
Also present Sue Leven, Town Planner; Victor Staley
Work Session: Review and Discuss proposed bylaw for Fall Town Meeting
1. Sign
Bugle: Provided an overview of the proposed modification. A discussion regarding the need for the
change and the ramifications of allowing sandwich signs occurred. Mr. Bugle noted that the HDC had
been aware of the modification and he felt they were supportive. A discussion on the ability to enforce
this change occurred. It was agreed that the whole sign bylaw needed to be overhauled but that this
was a start. Mr. Bugle encouraged the Board to allow this change and to see how it worked. The Board
could always modify the bylaw.
Pierce: Motioned to refer the Sign bylaw-modification to the Board of Selectmen so that the BOS could
then refer back to the Planning Board for a Public Hearing. Seconded by Barnard. All Aye.
A public hearing would be scheduled for September 16, 2009
Pierce: Motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Barnard. All Aye.
