RESOLUTION NO: 2014-097 ADOPTED: September 9, 2014
A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $30,000
RESULTING IN A TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM THE TREE BANK TO
THE FY-2015 CAPITAL PROJECTS BUDGET
WHEREAS, the Town has established a"Tree Bank" for proffered monies received from
developers in lieu of planting ordinance-required trees on their sites; and
WHEREAS,the Town has reserved these monies for use in purchasing trees to be planted
in locations to be determined by the Town's Urban Forester, and
WHEREAS: The Town Council has a stated goal of utilizing such funds to plant trees to
enhance the Town's tree canopy coverage; and
WHEREAS; the Urban Forester has determined that the Potomac Crossing Park and
Mervin Jackson Park projects are suitable sites for canopy enhancement plantings; and
WHEREAS, funds are currently available in the established Tree Bank fund for distribution
to specific projects as directed by Council.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
FY-2015 Capital Projects budget is hereby amended, and a transfer from the Tree Bank Fund is
made in the amount of$30,000 for use in the development of Potomac Crossing Park and Mervin
Jackson Park.
