Held at Eddy Elementary School
Chair O'Reilly called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
- For the Committee: Steve Jones, Marie Enochty, John O'Reilly, David Telman (Absent: Jennifer
Rabold
- For the Administration: Richard Hoffmann, Denise Fronius, Keith Gauley, Hans Baum hauer
- Others: Town officials, parents, interested citizens
AGENDA CHANGES
- Item A- FY 10 Budget was removed from the agenda. Added to the agenda were:
B. Consider Floor Plans for Proposed Addition to Stony Brook School
C. Endorse the OpenCape Corporation's Grant Application

PRIORITY BUSINESS
- Consider Floor Plans
Mr. Levasseur reviewed the proposed floor plans the Building Committee is putting forth for the
addition to Stony Brook Elementary School. It is adding eight classrooms with 900 sq. ft. per
class(originally there were six classrooms proposed). There will be two grades in the addition. It
was moved by David Telman, seconded by Marie Enochty and voted unanimously to endorse
the Building Committee's proposed plan. Mr. Levasseur expressed his hope that the School
Committee will embrace the plan and support it at Town Meeting.
- Endorse the OpenCape Corporation's Grant Application
Dr. Hoffmann had received the request from OpenCape Corporation for the School Committee's
endorsement of their$35-40 million grant application to the National Telecommunications and
Information Agency. This would enable them to oversee the creation and operation of a regional
wholesale digital communications network for the Cape and Islands. It was moved by Marie
Enochty, seconded by Steve Jones and voted unanimously to endorse OpenCape
Corporation's Grant Application.
REPORTS AND INFORMATION
- FY 09 Budget
Business Manager Baumhauer reported that in closing the FY 09 books, there were overages in
the three budgets(Eddy, Stony Brook and Brewster Only). The administration and Town are
looking at revenue sources to cover this. Mr. O'Reilly met with Dr. Hoffmann and Mr. Baumhauer
and instructed Mr. Baumhauer to find out the actual number of the deficit so that the Committee
can act on it at the August 10 meeting. Dr. Hoffmann and administration are looking at all
aspects to help cover the deficit.
- MASC/MASS Conference
Marie said she will be attending the conference.

- It was moved, seconded and voted unanimously to adjourn, subject to paying bills, at 6:03 p.m.
