A RESOLUTION: DONATION OF OUT OF SERVICE POLICE VEHICLES TO THE
LEESBURG POLICE CITIZENS SUPPORT TEAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CONTINUED USE
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Police Citizens Support Team is a volunteer organization in Leesburg,
Virginia and has provided service to the Town of Leesburg since 1996; and
WHERAS, the Leesburg Police Citizens Support Team is organized to aid, support, and in all
lawful manners, assist the Police Department of the Town of Leesburg, Virginia, in the prevention of
crime and the promotion of public safety; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens Support Team President Deb Walczak has made a request to the
Leesburg Police Department for consideration of a donation of motor vehicles no longer needed by the
Leesburg Police Department to replace vehicles no longer operationally viable; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens Support Team operates on a very small budget and does not have the
resources to purchase vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Police Department has recently taken two vehicles out of service and
the Citizens Support Team will be able to make use of these for several more years at higher mileage
accumulations;and
WHEREAS,the Leesburg Police Department believes in the continued partnership with its police
partners,and the Town Council encourages such collaboration.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Town
of Leesburg hereby donates to the Leesburg Police Citizens Support Team, a 2007 Chevrolet Impala,
mileage 112,121; and a 2008 Chevrolet Impala,mileage 110,660.
