A RESOLUTION: AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2015 BUDGET AND MAKING A
SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000
FROM THE UNASSIGNED FUND BALANCE TO THE GENERAL
FUND TO REPLENISH THE TOWN'S SALT STORAGE FACILITY
WHEREAS,the Public Works Department Salt Storage Facility is only 25% full after the
multiple snow and ice events of this past winter; and
WHEREAS, 1,500 tons of salt are needed to replenish the 2,000 ton salt storage facility at a
current cost of$100,000; and
WHEREAS, funds budgeted for salt in Fiscal Year 2016 will purchase only 400 tons of salt;
and
WHEREAS, it is good emergency planning and preparation to replenish the salt storage
facility in advance of the next winter season.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Fiscal Year 2015 General Fund Operating Budget is hereby amended and a supplemental
appropriation is made in the amount of$100,000 for the Department of Public Works to replenish
the Town's salt storage facility.
