RESOLUTION NO. 2015-067 ADOPTED June 9, 2015
A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO THE TOWN CODE TO EXPAND
THE BOUNDARY OF THE ARTS AND CULTURAL DISTRICT TO
INCLUDE THE WEST SIDE OF LIBERTY STREET BETWEEN
LOUDOUN STREET AND THE LIBERTY STREET PARKING LOT
WHEREAS, Town Code Sec ion 7-2 (District boundaries and date established) sets forth the
boundaries of the Arts and Cultural District("District") and that the boundaries are depicted on a
map dated March 8, 2011,which is maintained in the Town Manager's office; and
WHEREAS,whereas the Town Council desires to expand a portion of the boundary to
include a business that has recently relocated into the Town from Loudoun County and which may
qualify as a"qualified arts organization"within the definition of those businesses that are entitled to
the incentives of the District; and
WHEREAS, in order to expand the boundary of the District, a Town Code amendment is
required.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED,the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia initiates an
amendment to Section 7-2 (District boundaries and date established) of the Town Code to expand
the boundary of the Arts and Cultural District to include the west side of Liberty Street between
Loudoun Street and the Town's Liberty Street Parking Lot.
