A RESOLUTION: ADMINISTRATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE VIRGINIA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016
PRIMARY EXTENSION PAVING PROGRAM FUNDING
WHEREAS,the Virginia Department of Transportation(VDOT)has authorized Primary
Extension Paving Program funds in the amount of$407,000 for fiscal year 2016 for two roadway
segments within Leesburg; and
WHEREAS,Fiscal Year 2016 Primary Extension Paving Program funds in the amount of
$295,000 would allow for milling,repairs, resurfacing and related improvements to East Market
Street(Route 7 business)between Loudoun Street and Old Sycolin Road; and
WHEREAS,Fiscal Year 2016 Primary Extension Paving Program funds in the amount of
$112,000 would allow for milling,repairs, resurfacing and related improvements to North King
Street(Route 15 Business)between Dry Hollow Road and the North Corporate limits;
WHEREAS,the Town of Leesburg has received an agreement for an allocation of funding
in the amount of$407,000 for the two projects through the Virginia Department of Transportation
Fiscal Year 2016 Primary Extension Paving Program; and
WHEREAS,the Virginia Department of Transportation(VDOT)Primary.Extension
Paving Program provides for 100%funding of the estimated costs of each project.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Town Council authorizes the Town Manager to execute an administrative agreement for an
allocation of$407,000 through the Virginia Department of Transportation Primary Extension
Paving Program, consisting of$295,000 for the segment of East Market Street between Loudoun
