A RESOLUTION: AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2016 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
AND MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $407,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORATION PRIMARY ROUTE PAVING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has authorized Primary
Extension Paving Program funds in the amount of$407,000 for Fiscal Year 2016 for two roadway
segments within Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, Fiscal Year 2016 Primary Extension Paving Program funds in the amount of
$295,000 would allow for milling, repairs, resurfacing and related improvements to East Market
Street(Route 7 business)between Loudoun Street and Old Sycolin Road; and
WHEREAS, Fiscal Year 2016 Primary Extension Paving Program funds in the amount of
$112,000 would allow for milling, repairs, resurfacing and related improvements to North King
Street(Route 15 Business)between Dry Hollow Road and the North Corporate limits;
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has approved an agreement to receive funding in the
amount of$407,000 for the two projects through the VDOT Fiscal Year 2016 Primary Extension
Paving Program; and
WHEREAS, the VDOT Primary Extension Paving Program provides for 100% funding of
the estimated costs of each project.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Fiscal Year 2016 General Fund Operating Budget is hereby amended and a supplemental
appropriation is made in the amount of$407,000 for the Department of Public Works and Capital
Projectsfor the primary extension route paving that will consist of$295,000 for the segment of East
