APPOINTING JOHN J. VESEY, JR. AS COUNCILMAN
TO FILL VACANCY
WHEREAS, Sam R. Semenza, having been duly elected as a Councilman in the
Borough of Carteret, has submitted a Letter of Resignation to the Clerk of the
Borough of Carteret, effective April 30, 1996; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to NJ.S.A 40A:16-11, the Republican Municipal Committee
which represents the party affiliation under which Mr. Semenza was elected, has
submitted the names of individuals to be considered by the Borough Council to fill the
unexpired term of Mr. Semenza; and
WHEREAS, the time period in which the Borough Council may act to fill said
unexpired term as provided by N.J.S.A.40A: 16-11 expires May 30, 1996; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret hereby approves the recommendation of the Republican
Municipal Committee and appoints
JOHN J. VESEY_Y~_J_R._JIL
as a Councilman to fill the current vacancy on the Borough Council. Said term of
office shall expire on December 31, 1996;
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Mr. Vesey shall assume all duties as a Borough
Councilman in the Borough of Carteret immediately upon being administered and
affirming the duly authorized oath of office.
Adopted this 16th day of May, 1996
and certified as a true copy of the
original on May 17, 1996.
