SOLUTION NO. 2015-145 ADOPTED December 8,2015
A RESOLUTION: ENDORSEMENT OF PUBLIC HEARING DESIGN PLANS FOR THE
SYCOLIN ROAD WIDENING PHASE IV PROJECT
WHEREAS,the Sycolin Road Widening Phase IV project is an identified capital project in the
Town's Fiscal Year 2016-2021 Capital Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS,the Town has received partial funding from the Virginia Department of
Transportation for design, land acquisition,utility relocations, and construction; and
WHEREAS,the Town will provide the remaining required funding for the project from other
sources such as the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority and Loudoun County Gas Tax; and
WHEREAS,Virginia Department of Transportation authorization is required before the Town can
proceed with the right-of-way acquisition and utility relocation;
WHEREAS,a design public hearing was conducted in accordance with Virginia Department of
Transportation requirements on October 28, 2015; and
WHEREAS,no changes in the current design are recommended by Town staff that would result in
significant changes to the right-of-way requirements.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Town
Council endorses the basic design presented at the October 28,2015 design public hearing for the Sycolin
Road Widening Phase IV project in order to obtain Virginia Department of Transportation authorization to
proceed with right-of-way acquisition and relocation of utilities.
