A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE CATOCIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOURTH
GRADE STUDENTS TO PLACE A DONATION BOX IN THE LOBBY
AT IDA LEE PARK RECREATION CENTER TO COLLECT CARE
PACKAGES FOR CHILDREN RECEIVING CANCER TREATMENTS IN
AREA HOSPITALS
WHEREAS,the Town Council desires to show its support of initiatives by youth to improve
the quality of life for others; and
WHEREAS,the fourth grade class of Linda Knapp and Sarah Webber at Catoctin
Elementary School seek to assemble care packages for children undergoing cancer treatments at
local hospitals; and
WHEREAS, the students would like to collect donations of items to include in the care
packages from the public; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council encourages the citizens of Leesburg to assist these students
as they seek to help others in the community.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Council recognizes and supports the fourth grade students of Linda Knapp and Sarah Webber at
Catoctin Elementary School and authorizes them to place a donation box in the lobby at Ida Lee
Park Recreation Center to collect care packages for children receiving cancer treatments in area
hospitals.
PASSED this 9th day of February, 2016.
