AT COMMUNITY CENTER PRESENT: Mayor Craig Rockwood, Council members Don Holverson, Brad Andersen, Dave Huntsman, Scott Long asked to be excused, Police Chief Ross Johnson, City Clerk Betty McKinlay Mayor Rockwood had three items he wanted to discuss with the Council. 1. Rental of the building 2. Property for new shop 3. Zoning Ordinance Darrin Guthrie saw the cars out front and came in to talk to the Council and Mayor about the lake that is in front of his home. He asked the Council to either get him a boat ramp or gravel. Mr. Guthrie lives on Scoresby Ave. and the road has been built up. People are complaining of the mud etc. in front of their homes. Mayor Rockwood said they would have the County bring in some gravel and level it up but still leave the dip in the barrow pits for drainage. Mr. Guthrie said he would be grateful. He thinks the walking/bike path is wonderful. Rental of the building was discussed. Clerk Betty McKinlay quoted what the price of rent for the building is at this time. The Council thought it was a reasonable price. We just need to lock the part of the building that is not rented to people. Getting a TV and DVD player for the building was discussed. Council member Brad Andersen will look into prices. Mayor Rockwood showed a map of the City and the property that the City would like to purchase from Gary and Mary French. They own some property that is 218' wide and 110' deep. The property goes down to the City well and would be a perfect place for a shop. Ross did a great job of talking to them about the City buying one half an acre for $15,000. We can tap into sewer and water while the construction is going on in the area. Kim Ryan may be interested in buying the present shop. Mayor Rockwood discussed the procedure we will need to go through to purchase and sell property. The Council and Mayor discussed the Zoning Ordinance on the development going on along Crook Road. Mayor Rockwood and Council member Dave Huntsman talked with our Attorney Dale Storer about leaving it R-1 and use Conditional Use Permits then we could require the conditions we want versus trying to write a code. The Council does not want too many patio type homes on small lots, but they recognize a need for some of this type of develo ment in the community.
