The Wellsburg Town Council met in final session at 10:00
A.M. on January 2, 1970. Mayor Riekena along with Councilmen
VanDeest, Claassen, Huisman and Eckhoff were present.
Motion by Claassen, seconded by Huisman to adjourn the re-
tiring council. Carried.
The oath of office for Mayor of the Town of Wellsburg was
administered to Willard Ross by retiring Mayor, John E. Riekena.
Mayor Ross administered the oath of office to Councilmen Claas-
sen, Eckhoff, Huisman, Hippen and VanDeest.
Motion by Claassen and seconded by VanDeest to adjourn until
7:30 p.m. Carried

The adjourned session met in the council chambers at 7:30
p.m. with Mayor Ross presiding. All councilmen were in attend-
ance.
Minutes of the December 1, 1969, meeting were read. and ap-
proved on a motion by Eckhoff and seconded by Claassen. Carried.
Minutes of the special meeting of December 17, 1969, were
read and approved as corrected on a motion by Claassen and sec-
onded by VanDeest. Said correction being that Woodrow Lindaman
be appointed to the park board to fill the unexpired term vaca-
ted by Ray Tessau. Motion carried.
On a motion by VanDeest and seconded by. Eckhoff, the follow-
ing bills were allowed for payment:

On a motion by Huisman, seconded by Eckhoff the Council
appointed Henry J. Grobe to serve as town clerk for the fol-
lowing term. Carried.
Mayor Ross announced the following appointments with the
approval of the Council:
Town Hall and Finance: Hippen and Eckhoff
Water Department: Claassen and Huisman
Streets and Alleys: Huisman and VanDeest
Fire and Public Safety: VanDeest and Hippen
Sewer and Sanitation: Eckhoff and Claassen
Parks and Recreation: Claassen and VanDeest
Mayor Pro Tem: Huisman
On a motion by Claassen, seconded by VanDeest, T. J. Her-
onimus was appointed as legal counsel for the town. Carried.
Motion by Huisman, seconded by Claassen to adjourn.
Carried.

Mayor Clerk
The Wellsburg Town Council met in regular session on
February 2, 1970, with Mayor Ross presiding and all council-
men present.
On a motion by Eckhoff and seconded by Huisman the min-
utes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Motion
carried.
Following a motion by Huisman seconded -by Tan Deest, the
following bills were allowed for payment:
