HomeMy Public PortalAboutObituaries: IStar -News News Records Page Death: Ellen I. (kola Ellen 1. Ikola was born in Lakefork on July 20, 1916. She passed away on Jan. 16, 2016 in McCall. She attended grammar school in Norwood and high school in Donnelly, graduating as valedictorian in 1934. She worked at the C.C. Anderson Store and later for the U.S. Post i Office in McCall. She and M. George Ikola were married in 1938, both working for Brown Tie and Lumber. Their only son, Gerry Lee, was born in October 1947. Soon after, they moved to Horseshoe Bend where George and his brother Elmer started Ikola Logging. They lived there for 9 years making lifelong friends and many cherished memories. In 1956 they returned to McCall where Ikola Logging continued to operate to this day. Ellen was the primary bookkeeper for Ikola Logging for 68 years beginning in 1956. Ellen was a dedicated member of numerous organizations. She was a charter member of the local chapter of Daughters of the Nile, and very active member of Finnish Ladies Aid for most of her adult life. She perhaps most enjoyed her membership in the Valerie Chapter of Eastern Stars In McCall, where she was Worthy Matron in 1965. She loved traveling to Idaho Grand Chapter once a year throughout the state, holding many Grand Chapter offices for many years. Ellen took great pride in Gerry's and her grandchildren's many activities and accomplishments. She and George especially enjoyed basketball games, but also attended baseball games, motorcycle races, track meets and football games. She will be missed by all who knew her, but more significantly by fellow members of Eastern Star, Finnish Ladies Aid, the McCall Senior Center and the McCall Community Congregational Church. The greatest void, of course, will be left in the lives of her loving family and close relatives. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Andrew Leaf and Mary Karki, siblings Bill Leaf, Edna Ruska, Lillian McDougal, Ralph Leaf, Acel Leaf and Mary Johnson and her husband George. She Is survived by her son Gerry Lee Ikola (Capella), grandchildren Erika Sussi (Jordan), Gerry Andrew Ikola (Rachael) and Gabe Ikola and great grandchildren Erika Faith Ikola, Andrew Ikola and Lordes Sussi. A memorial service will be held at the McCall Community Congregational Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016. Graveside services will follow at the Finnish Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Heikkila Funeral Chapel in McCall. George Ikola M. George Ikola passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 23, 1915, at Sublet, Wyo., to John G. and Wendla Ruuska IkoIa, the youngest of nine children. The family moved to Long Valley, Idaho, in 1918, where they home- s t e a d e d, farmed and ranched for many years. He attended schools in McCall and Roseberry until 1930, when he started working for Carl Brown, owner of Brown's Tie and Lumber. George married Ellen Irene Leaf of Lake Fork in 1938, and together they shared an eventful life built around their family logging business. Soon after the birth of their son Gerry in 1947, they moved to Horseshoe Bend, where he started his own business for Hoff Lumber Co. They spent nine years there forming many lifetime friendships and memories before returning to the McCall area in 1956. He began contract logging for Boise Cascade Corporation in 1955 and continued for nearly 45 years as owner of G. Ikola Logging. He enjoyed working in the woods and running the vari- ous types of logging equipment. He was recognized as one of the truly gifted equipment operators of his time. In 1970, their only son, Gerry, joined his father as a full -time part- ner in the family business. Later joined by Gerry's wife Capella, they have all owned and operated G. Ikola Logging to the present, recently adding two of George's grandchildren to the business oper- ations. In his later years George remained very involved in the busi- ness, including mechanical repairs, welding and overseeing other shop activities. One of his favorite hobbies was making thousands of tamarack fence posts that were sold to farm- ers, ranchers and property owners throughout the entire valley. He enjoyed reading western novels for :rdC,�.h0 as long as his vision allowed. George was a 50 -year member of Payette Lakes Lodge #81 AF & AM, in McCall, a member of El Korah Shrine and a Life member of Scottish Rite of Free Masonry in Boise. His grandchildren were his ulti- mate pride; he especially enjoyed attending their many sports activities. Survivors include Ellen, his wife of 63 years; their son, Gerry and his wife, Capella; his grandchildren, Erika, Gerry Andrew and Gabe, all of McCall; his sisters, Alice Grant and Edna Dukes of Coos Bay, Ore., and Esther Rader of Boise; and several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Fanny Cate; and brothers, Richard, Walter, Elmer and Johnny Ikola. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the McCall Community Congregational Church. Viewings are scheduled for today from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Heikkila Funeral Chapel, McCall. Leland was being visited and comforted by his wife Nora and many family members at the Marquis Care Center in Boise at the time of his passing. Leland was born in McCall on March 12, 1928, to Charles and Josephine Ilka, 0! Leland served In the Army during the Korean War. After receiving an honorable discharge, Leland worked on the family farm for many years. Leland was married for the first and only time to Nora Bailey on July 22, 1988, at the age of 60. Leland enjoyed gardening, fishing, bike riding, traveling and building mechanical things. Leland designed and built his own bulldozer tractor. Leland is survived by his wife Nora, nine stepchildren and several grandchildren and great - grandchildren. Ilka EMMETT Leonard C. Ilka, 64, of Emmett, died Friday, Jan. 25, 1991, in an Emmett hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Emmett Seventh -day Adventist Church. Pastor Keith Hanson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Emmett Cemetery, Mr. Ilka was born Nov. 22, 1926, at McCall. He married Ber- nice Ann Krekula in 1961 at Seat- tle. They lived in McCall and Boise. He had worked as a heavy equipment mechanic, retiring in 1988. They moved to Emmett in July of 1990. INGEBRETSEN Velma R. Ingebretsen, 87, McCall, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1993, at McCall Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were con- ducted on Saturday, Jan. 16, 1993, at the Heikkila Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ron Clapp officiating. Burial followed in the Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise. She was born at Brookings, S. D., on April 22, 1905, She came to Boise with her family in 1906 and to Roseberry, Idaho, in 1907, where she was raised and graduated from the Roseberry High School. She attended Albion State College, receiving a life teaching certificate and later attended the College of Idaho. She taught schools at Hillgrove and Norwood, all in Long Valley. She also taught in Orchard, Idaho, and Warren, Idaho, where she met Walter E. Jordan, whom she married in May 1930. They had two children; a boy, Thomas R. and a daughter, Darlene R. Mr. Jordan died in Feb. 1950. Velma married Harold E. "Bus" Ingebretsen in March 1953. They were married 38 years when Bus died in January 1992. Velma was a member of the Eastern Star, Valeria Chapter, McCall. "BUS" INGEBRETSEN Harold E. "Bus" Ingebretsen, 85, of McCall, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1992, in a McCall hospital. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1992, at Heikkila Funeral Chapel with Bishop Douglas Bur- nett officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser. He was born June 10, 1906, in Weiser and was reared in Weiser. During his younger years, he boxed and wrestled as a young man under the name of Buster Brown. He married Mamie Grier in 1927 in Ogden, Utah. They were later divorced. He came to McCall in 1930, where he operated Bus' Barber Shop for 42 years, retiring in 1972. He married Velma Jordan on March 9, 1953, in Boise. They were married for 38 years. He was a member of the Payette Lake Masonic Lodge. He loved fish- ing and bird hunting. Surviving are his wife, Velma of McCall; a daughter and her husband, Coleen and Wayne Ivey of Portage, Ind.; a brother, Paul of Pocatello; seven grandchildren and 25 great - grandchildren and one great- great- grandchild. Also surviving are a step- daugh- ter and her husband, Darlene and Sam Binder of McCall; a step -son and his wife, Tom and Kathy Jordan of Billings, Mont.; eight step - grandchildren, 14 step- great - grand- children and one step- great - great- grandson. star Nees M,j A t q 9 FLORENCE McILHENNY INGHAM Florence McIlhenny Ingham, 94, formerly of McCall, died Thursday, March 21, 1991, in Honolulu, Hawaii, of natural causes. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, March 28, 1991, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif. Burial will follow. She was born on Nov. 6, 1896, the daughter of Dr. Lott McIlhenny and Lynn Harper McIlhenny. From rural western Kansas, she moved to Wichita early in this century and at- tended high school there. She married James King Ingham on June 22, 1915, at age 18. The couple had a daughter in Wichita be- fore moving to California in 1923. They settled in Pasadena in 1924, where Mr. Ingham was active in in- surance and civic affairs. A son was born in Pasadena in 1936. She traveled extensively in her later years, circling the globe three times. She had a summer home in Corona del Mar and later a lake home at Payette Lake, Idaho. Her husband died 15 years ago, and she moved to Honolulu in 1985 to be near to her son. She is survived by a daughter, Peggy (Mrs. John W.) Ingham Clemmer of McCall; a son, James K. Cremation is under direction of the Cloverdale Funeral Home and Crematory, Boise. B.E. was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Marion County, Ark., a son of Bascom and Audrey Lowrey In- gram. He was raised in Arkansas, and attended the University of Arkansas. Mr. Ingram also at- tended Arizona State and the Uni- versity of Redlands where he re- ceived a master's degree in education. B.E. served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He played pro - baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals in the farm system. Mr. Ingram started his teaching career in 1954 in Arkansas, and also taught in Arizona and Cali- fornia. He taught from the grade school level to college. He also had an extensive background in business management. B.E. re- tired in 1985 as superintendent of schools in Ramona. Calif. Atter traveling for two years, he and his wife retired in Council to en- joy the fishing and outdoors. Mr. Ingram had been elected a delegate to the state Democratic Convention. Survivors include his wife, Catherine of Council; a son and daughter -in -law, Bryan and Kyna Ingram of San Francisco; a daughter and son -in -law, J. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Church of the Nazarene, McCall. The Rev. Ron Clapp will officiate. Burial will be in the McCall Ceme- tery. Arrangements are under direc- tion of the Heikkila Funeral Chapel, McCall. Mr. Inman, a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, was born Oct. 4, 1920, at Jackson, Mich. He married Barbara Main on Nov. 15, 1941, at Jackson. He joined the Air Force in 1943, and had a distin- guished service career of 27 years, receiving many commendations. He retired in 1970. They lived for eight years in Boise, moving to Donnelly on Cascade Lake in 1978, then to McCall in 1986. Following his retire- ment from the Air Force, his hobby was building and doing finish caz<- pentry work. Mr. Inman was loved and will be missed by many people in the McCall area. Survivors include his wife, Bar- bara of McCall; three sons, David P. of Madrid, Spain, Stephen K. of Cabot, Ark., and Gary A. Inman of Boise; two daughters, Susan B. Bigelow of Sherwood, Ark., and Bonnie L. Hunter of Logan, Utah; a brother, R. D. Inman of Roosevelt, Ariz.; and 13 grandchildren. Cleo W. She married Barney Ireland, her high school sweetheart on May 21, 1945 at her parents home in Boi- se, Idaho and moved to the Skagit Valley. They settled in Sedro - Woolley in 1951, and it has been her home ever since. Beginning in 1955, she spent approximately 30 years working for the Sedro - Wooley school dis- trict. She knew and remembered almost every student she met during her time there. Cleo was a Little League mom, a cuh -scout mom, wrestling mom and grand- ma. She attended all the matches through State, and faithfully fol- lowed SWHS football and basket- ball. Even after retirement, you couldn't find a more avid Cub fan. Cleo was a camper extraordinaire starting from her childhood until her passing. Some of her favorite places were Baker Lake, the Skagit River and the Twisp area. She could tie a hook, clean, can, smoke and cook any kind of fish She has even been known to shoot, clean and butcher her own elk. She relished time spent with her children, grandchildren and great - grandchildren. Her family was everything to her. Her home an open door. To. quote her recently, "If my kids love them, I love them ". Holidays at her house were always a time of love, laugh- ter and fun. The family had the privilege to spend Christmas 2000 with her, the first Ireland family Christmas in 15 years. It was a family Christmas that will be remembered and cherished. Cleo's interest in her family tree lead her to computer literacy. She traced her family history all the way back to 1200AD. She devoted hours to developing vid- eos of that beloved history, taking 50 years worth of slides and pic- tures and turning them into an heirloom for us all. She spent Stateg &,,;0 pet numerous nours making videos of family, friends and places she vis- ited. She also loved knitting, cro- cheting and creating quilts and afghans for each special family member. She spent her winters in Arizona with Barney. They enjoyed going for drives and spending time with their family and friends, of which she had a multitude. Many of them life -long friendships she cherished. Every- one who had the pleasure to know her, loved her. She was the Best Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great - Grandma. Cleo is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Byron (Bar- ney) Ireland. Her children, Bob & Penny Ireland of Sedro - Wooley, Wash., Ron & Vicki Ireland of Bozeman, Mont., Jean & Paul Ballenger of Everett, Wash. Her grandchildren, Gina & Rick Inskeep, Nicholas Ireland, Annie Ireland, Molly & Pat Ringe, Heidi Ireland & John Quattrocchi, Dann Ireland, Jason & Greta Ireland, Clarice & Mark Lien, Hannah & Bob Newman, Cory McDonald & Sarah Hollis. Tom Penry offici- ating. Burial followed in the Holmes Cemetery, Donnelly. Donald was born to Guy and Dollie Ireland at Atlanta, Neb., the fourth of seven children. Don joined the Navy on Dec. 7, 1941 (Pearl Harbor Day) and served until 1947. He then served in the Navy Reserves at Bremerton, Wash., for many years. He was a chief petty officer. Don married Helena (Chick) Rosenfell on Oct. 28, 1946, and they had over 51 years together. Don worked at the Bremerton Navy shipyards as a boilermaker for many years. He and Helena owned and op- erated several ambulance companies until their retirement He dedicated much of his life to helping people through first aid and CPR instruction and many other ways. Don is survived by his wife flel- ena; three brothers and their wives, Floyd and Edna, Barney and Cleo, Dean and Lorraine; a sister and her husband, Dorothy and Bob; six grand - childret, Tom uss, Ruchard Suss, Karen Pennock, Kelly Burns, Kurtis Ireland, Becki Ireland; a daughter -in- law, Eva and her husband Bill; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, brother, sopp an randson. i Garold Mark "Gary" Ireland PASCO, Wash. — Garold Mark "Gary" Ireland, 31, of Pasco, and formerly of the Boise & McCall areas, died Saturday, July 9, as a result of an apartment fire. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Donnelly Bible Church. Pastor Thomas Penry will officiate. Burial will follow in the McCall Cemetery, under the direction of Heikkila Funeral Home, McCall. Mr. Ireland was born Aug. 14, 1956, at McCall, where he was raised. He graduated from McCall - Donnelly High School in 1975, and attended one year at Boise State University. He lived in the Boise Valley area until moving to the Pasco area eight months ago. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Guy and Dorothy Ire- land of Donnelly; a half brother, John W. Ireland of Caldwell; a sister, Kathy Duman of Craig - mont; a grandmother, Dollie Ire- land of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; three nieces; one nephew; and several aunts and uncles. His mother, Dee, died in 1982, and a brother, Douglas, died in 1977. The family suggests that me- morials may be made to a favor- ite charity. "Junior" Ireland, 67, a longtime resident of Long Valley, died Friday, Oct. 7, 1988, at the home of his daughter in Craigmont after being ill with can- cer since the first of the year. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Donnelly Bible Church. Pastor Tom Penry will of- ficiate. Mr. Ireland, a retired sawmill worker, was born Nov. 5, 1920, at Atlanta, Neb., a son of Guy and Dollie Ireland. The family moved to Star, Idaho, in 1937, and to Long Valley in 1939. Guy served in the U.S. Army during World War 1I, fighting in the African Campaign and in Germany. He married Helen Henderson in 1943, and they were the parents of a son, John Wayne Ireland. They were later divorced. He married Della Jean "Dee" Jones on Oct. 1, 1952. They were the par- ents of three children, Kathryn M., Garold M. and Douglas Guy. Dee died in October of 1982. He later married Dorothy Gestrin of Donnel- ly. Guy was very active in several or- ganizations, and was chairman of Area Agency on Aging, Third Area; past commander of American Le- gion Post #60, Cascade; a SHIBA counselor; past chairman of the McCall Senior Citizens; member of the Ida -Ore Board; WYCAP; VWF Post #8966; was Valley County service officer for Disabled Vet- erans; and was a member of the Donnelly Bible Church. Hugh was born March 24,1918 in Cortland, N.Y. He went away to high school at Staunton Military Academy in Staunton, Va., graduating in 1935. He received a BA in economics from Colgate University in 1939. When World 3 > -< War II broke out, 'A he joined the Marine Corps and served in that war and later in Korea. He ended up mak- ing the military a career, retiring with the rank of colonel. In 1942 Before going overseas, Hugh married the former Janet Frances McGowan in Washington, D.C. Theyhad63wonderfulyearsto- gether. They loved the military life, the travel and had many friends. Hugh ,retired from the Marine Corps in 1967. He spent two years as president of the Manlius Military Academy in Manlius, N.Y. Hugh and Janet moved to El Paso, Texas, to enjoy the weather, golf and friends. After 25 enjoyable years in El Paso, they moved to McCall to be closer to family. They joined and were active in the McCall Congrega- tional Church. Hugh was a member of the American Legion. Hugh is survived by his wife Janet; a son Jack and wife Julie of McCall; a son Charles and wife Christine of Westfied, N.J.; a daugh- ter Barbara and husband Paul Anderson of Northport, Wash.; and grandchildren Lucas and Brett Irish of New Jersey, William and Erin Irish of McCall and Daniel, Shanna and Kelsey Anderson of Washing- ton; and one great - granddaughter, Lily Rose Anderson. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at the Homedale Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In- terment was held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Evelyn was born Feb.16,1948 at Council, to John and °F Dorothy Dehlin. She attended school at McCall, graduat- ing in 1966. She was a National Honor Society Member and a member of the Girl Scouts for 10 years and a leader for two years. Evelyn went to Kinman Business University, Spokane, Wash., then went to work for Continental Life Insurance Co. in Boise and later working for the State of Idaho. After mov- ing to Homedale she worked for Jackson Realty and H &R Block. On April 26, 1980 she was married to Milton Ireland in the Idaho Falls Temple, gained three stepchildren, and then their daughter Shelley was born in 1984. Shelley and Luis presented her with three grandchildren, Trevor, Tyler, and Linnea, they were the love of her life. Evelyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints and held several different positions, the last being Family History Worker. She loved the moun- tains and being surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed yard sales, reading, and picking huckleberries. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Douglas and his two brothers were placed in Children's Home in Boise. Douglas was a resident of the Nampa State School Hospital from Octo- ber 1929 until July 1965. In July 1965, Douglas came to McCall where he was employed by Shore Lodge. After working at the Shore Lodge for 25 years, Douglas decided to make a change of employment and was then employed at Si Bueno. Douglas was a diligent, meticulous worker. During the almost 30 years in McCall, Douglas has enjoyed picking huckleber- ries. He always found the best patch and the biggest berries. Douglas was seen every day either riding his bicycle or walking. He made yearly trips to Weiser for the Fiddlers Contest and to Riggins for the Rodeo. He loved to garden and would ride or walk miles to tend his gardens which he had at various locations in McCall. Douglas enjoyed all the activities at the McCall - Donnely High School, often winning the cake raffles. He enjoyed being with young people. He actively took part in bike -a -thons and walk -a- thons, usually taking Grand Prize. He also enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics and was proud of the awards he received. During the time he was employed by Rod and Melinda Nielsen at Si Bueno, the Idaho Restaurant and Hospitality As- sociation presented Douglas with a "Life Time Merit Award ". This is the only time and Douglas is the only person ever presented with this award. The award was presented at a special banquet at the Shore Lodge. Douglas loved music, and knew every hymn. He played the harmonica, small organ, and tamboreen. He often took his tamboreen to the night spots of McCall and enjoyed accompanying the bands. Douglas loved to visit with those he met, and those he met loved Douglas, and he will be greatly missed by every- one in McCall. Survivors include his younger brother, his nephew, and his family. Funeral services will be con- ducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Cascade Community Church, Cascade. Services are under direction of the Heikkila Funeral Chapel, McCall. Bruce was born Jan. 30, 1953, at Cascade, where he remained his entire life. He attended Cascade schools, graduating in 1971. Bruce then worked for the Forest Service for a season before going to work as a logger for Del Gossi. In Febru- ary 1973, Bruce went to work for Boise Cascade. He married Rhonda Boyd on April 5, 1995. Surviving are his wife, Rhonda; three daughters, Katey Marie, Amanda Huston, and Kelsey Marie; and his mother, Carmen, all of Cas- cade; three brothers, Robert and his wife, Mary of Medford, Ore., Leonard and his wife, Leslie, and. Jody, of Cascade; and by many nieces and nephews. He was pre- ceded in death by his father, George; and several aunts and uncles. Bruce was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed spend- ing time horseback and cowboying. Bruce was a devoted father, brother, husband and son. He lived to be active, and was a vibrant force in the lives of others. Prior to that she worked as a deputy treasurer for the county and was a switchboard operator in the county before the time of dialing phones. On Friday, a dear friend and treasured wife and mother, Kris- tina Siv Isola went to be with her Lord Jesus in heaven. Kristina was born on June 1st, 1956, the daughter of Rush and Siv Short- ed. Her family lived in Reseda, Calif. at that time, where her father was a High School teacher. In 1963 the family moved to Thousand Oaks, Calif. where Kristina started school at Acacia Elementary. She later attended Redwood Middle School and then graduated from Thousand Oaks High School in 1974. After high school she studied at the Univer- sity of California at Riverside where she graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in dance. During her college years she was heavily involved in theatre pro- duction, dancing, choreography and physical fitness. Her deep love of dance began at a very early age and as a child she per- formed in many programs and musicals. Kristina's father, Rush Shost- ed, taught night school so the family could afford to spend the summer months in beautiful McCall, Idaho and be introduced to the -beauty of nature. Her first summer in McCall was when she was only two years old, and she returned nearly every year until she made her permanent home here many years later. After graduation frorA college, Kristina worked at th anta Ana Police Department as dispatch- er, and later at the Tustin; Calif. Police Department as a records clerk. Many of her evenings were spent teaching various kinds of dance and aerobics. In the late summer of 1991 Kristina met her future husband, Michael L. Isola in McCall. They married on June 27th of the fol - Stdfe SMdIq lowing summer and made thei home together in McCall. They were blessed with two precious children: Angelina, age 4 and Luke, age 6. In January of 1999 Kristina was diagnosed with ovarian can- cer and through her strong and steadfast faith in Jesus Christ she bravely fought it until she recently went to be with Him. The positive outlook and amazing attitude Kristina possessed throughout her health problems have encour- aged and given strength to many of us as we remember along with her to be thankful for our blessings. She is greatly missed by her husband, Mike; her mother, Siv; brother, Mark; two children, Ange- lina and Luke; other family mem- bers and friends who dearly loved her pleasant, sweet and outgoing personality. She was an active member of McCall Christian Fellowship Church where she participated using her talent for dancing and worshiping in sign language as an expression of her great love for the Lord. Before she passed away, she wanted for her husband to express her thanks to the great community of McCall for the many ways in which the people here reached out in love to her and her family in this time of need. He attended business school in Spo- kane, Wash. Fay married Anna Sweep on Sept. 19, 1935, and they had two children, Idalene and Ina Mae. They farmed in the Notus area for many years. Fay later worked for West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell where he became known as "The Floor Doctor." Fay was an active member of the Church of Christ and served as an elder for many years. Guide killed ii, hunting accident The Associated Press office was notified of the incident Tuesday afternoon. ELK RIVER  Hunting guide John D. Ivey, 32, Orofino, has been killed in a hunting accident in the Gold Butte area five air miles northeast of Elk River. Clearwater County Sheriff Nick Albers said Wednesday his Albers said Ivey apparently was on a hunting trip with two other men. No other details were avail- able. The sheriff said he will contin- ue his investigation.
