A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AMENDMENT EXTENDING THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
WITH SAAB SENSIS AND VIRGINIA SATS LAB INC. TO SEPTEMBER
30, 2017 FOR THE REMOTE CONTROL TOWER TEST'PROGRAM AT
THE LEESBURG EXECUTIVE AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg executed a Memorandum of Agreement with SAAB
Sensis Corporation and Virginia SATS Lab Inc. on October 7, 2014 to establish a remote control
tower test at the Leesburg Executive Airport; and
WHEREAS, SAAB Sensis Corporation and Virginia SATS Lab Inc. desire to extend the
ending date of the Memorandum of Agreement until September 30, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Commission endorsed the extension to the Memorandum of
Agreement at its regular meeting on July 7, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Parties agree that the successful operation of the remote air traffic control
system would be beneficial to the Town's airport operations; and
THEREFORE,RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
Authorize the Town Manager to execute an Amendment extending the Memorandum of
Aereement with SAAB Sensis Corporation and Virginia SATS Lab Inc. to September 30, 2017 for
the Remote Control Tower Test Program at the Leesburg Executive Airport is hereby approved.
