A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE TOWN CODE AND THE
SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS TO
CONFORM TO CURRENT FEMA AND VIRGINIA DCR
STANDARDS
WHEREAS, the Town Council passed Resolution No. 2013-133 on November 12,
2013, initiating amendments to the Leesburg Zoning Ordinance and Design and Construction
Standards Manual to address federal and state requirements pertaining to activities'in the
Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA") floodplain; and
WHEREAS, in order to fully conform to floodplain requirements recommended by
FEMA and the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation ("DCR"), the Leesburg
Town Code and Subdivision and Land Development Regulations ("SDLR") must be amended.
• THEREFORE, RESOLVED, the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia initiates
amendments to the Leesburg Town Code and the SLDR to create floodplain ordinances and
regulations to conform to the requirements set forth by FEMA and DCR.
