A RESOLUTION: ENDORSING A REQUEST FOR REGIONAL SURFACE
TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM/ CONGESTION MITIGATION AIR
QUALITY FUNDING FROM THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023 FOR THE
ROUTE 15 BYPASS/EDWARDS FERRY ROAD INTERCHANGE
PROJECT
WHEREAS; the Town was awarded design funding from the Northern Virginia Regional
Transportation Authority for the design of the interchange at Edwards Ferry Road at the Route
15 Bypass; and
WHEREAS, the Town will need additional funding for final design, right-of-way
acquisition, utility relocation, and construction; and
WHEREAS, the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority has requested funding
requests for Regional Surface Transportation Program/Congestion Mitigation Air Quality
funding for Fiscal Year 2023.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION 1. The Town Council supports this funding request to the Northern Virginia
Transportation Authority for Fiscal Year 2023 Regional Surface Transportation Program funding
for the Route 15 Bypass/Edwards Ferry Road Interchange Project.
SECTION II. The Town hereby grants authority for the Town Manager to apply for
funds and execute project administration agreements, as well as other documents necessary for
receipt of funding.
