RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HART -FREDERICK CONSULTANTS, CITY
ENGINEER, TO PROCEED WITH THE DESIGN, OBTAINING NECESSARY
EASEMENTS AND PERMITS FOR THE 2013 DEERVIEW ESTATES WATERMAIN
LOOPING PROJECT IN AND FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IA.
WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin recognizes the importance of providing uninterrupted water
service and fire flow to its citizens, schools and businesses even when there are unexpected
watermain breaks or maintenance issues.
WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin has the desire to loop city water through Deerview Estates to
Timber Ridge which will allow for uninterrupted water service to Clear Creek Amana School,
Little Clipper Day Care, residents of Deerview Estates and any future development to the west.
WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin is desirous for the City Engineer, Hart -Frederick Consultants
P.C. to proceed with the said Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TIFFIN, IOWA THAT the City Engineer, Hart -Frederick Consultants P.C., is hereby ordered to
proceed with the project design for the looping of the watermain through Deerview Estates to
Timber Ridge. This includes preparing Plans, Specifications, Contract Documents and
Engineer's Estimate of Cost; obtain necessary easements and prepare necessary permits for the
letting ( competitive quote) of said project.
On the 24th day of July 2013, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Ryan introduced Resolution No. 2013-140, and made a motion for approval.
Motion seconded by Councilperson Bartels.
AYE: Kahler, Ryan, Bartels, Upton, Phillips
NAY: none.
ABSENT: none.
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared
that the Resolution No. 2013-140, be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing
his signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on this 24th day of July 2013.
