AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2016-2021 CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO MAKE STORM DRAINAGE
IMPROVEMENTS AT THE INTERSECTION OF MARKET STREET
AND KING STREET AND AT THE ALLEY BETWEEN 3 & 5 SOUTH
KING STREET BY APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, storm drainage improvements are needed to the Market Street and King Street
intersection to provide a long-term solution to continuous maintenance problems that exist today; and
WHEREAS, storm drainage improvements are needed to the alley between 3 and 5 South King
Street to replace the substandard drainage system that is currently in place and general improvements are
needed to improve the deteriorated alley surface and repair the gate at the end of the alley; and
WHEREAS, design of the Market Street and King Street intersection improvements were
completed as part of the Downtown Improvements project, but were not constructed due to budget
constraints; and
WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $850,000 will be required to construct the project.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that:
SECTION 1. The Fiscal Year 2016-2021 Capital Improvements Program is hereby amended.
SECTION 11. An appropriation in the amount of $850,000 is made to the Fiscal Year 2017
Capital Improvement Program budget to construct the project using 5850;000 in eligible cash proffers that
the Town has previously received.
