ATTEST, Village Clerk OCTOBER 26. 1957 Mayor The Council of Bal Harbour Village met Saturday, October 26, 1957, at 9:30 A. M. in the Village Hall. Present were: Messrs. Brosnan, Brown and Hart Absent: Messrs. Beatty and Graham Also present were: W. H. Webb, Village Manager; Mary Wetterer, Village Clerk; and Thomas Anderson, Village Attorney. On motion of Mr. Broeman, seconded by Mr. Hart, the minutes of the previous meeting of September 28, 1957, were accepted as submitted. Mr. Anderson reported that he had not as yet numbered all the para- graphs in the Police Ordinance, but the wording of the amendment was acceptable. Thereupon on motion of Mr. Broeman, seconded by Mr. Hart, Ordinance No.571 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDI- NAME NO. 2, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE, FLORIDA, DE— FINING OFFENSES, FIXING PUNISHMENTS AND FINES, AND RELATING TO EVIDENCE, SEARCHES AND SEIZURES, TRAFFIC REGU— LATIONS." was unanimously adopted. The Council then considered Taxi Permits from the following firms at the given locations: Morse Taxi & Baggage Transfer, Inc. - Americana 6; Balmoral 4; Ivanhoe 2; Kenilworth Hotels 4 OCTOBER 26, 1957 231 Robert Hargraves - Bal Harbour Shops 1 North Beach Yellow Cab, Inc. - Beau Ravage Hotel 2 Surf Cab, Inc. - Colonnade Hotel 2 on motion of Mr. Hart, seconded by Mr. Broeman, the 21 applications were unanimously approved as outlined by the Village Manager. Applications for U-Drive-It Permits were then submitted and on motion of Mr. Broeman, seconded by Mr. Hart, 30 permits were approved as follows: Morse Auto Rentals, Inc. - Balmoral 5; Ivanhoe 5; Kenilworth Hotels 5. The Hertz Corporation - Americana 10; Colonnade Hotel 5. Mr. Broeman said he would like to bring up the subject of the "Night Club Tour" busses and wondered what could be done about having them take out a license and also to control them from becoming a nuisance on Collins Avenue. Mr. Brown suggested that Mr. Webb check with the Florida Railroad Commission to determine what their permit permitted them to do and report at the nett meeting. Mr. Webb said he had attended a meeting at the Bay Harbor Elementary School at which Surfside, Bal Harbour and Bay Harbor were asked to contribute the salary of a school patrolman. Mr. Webb said he had agreed to have one of our men handle the traffic crossing at the foot of the Bay Harbor bridge three times a day for the children to corss 96th Street. The Council decided that this would help the situation for the present. There being no further business before the meeting on motion of Mr. Broeman, seconded by Mr. Hart, the meeting was adjourned. Beatty, Broeman, Brown, Graham and Hart. Also present were: W. H. Webb, Village Manager and Thomas H. Anderson, Village Attorney.
