The Council of the Village of Medina met in regular session on Tuesday, July
6, 1971 at 7:40 P. M.

The minutes of the meeting of June 1, 1971 read. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers
to approve the minutes as read.

The minutes of the Board of Review of June 17, 1971 read. Moved by Robert
Franklin to approve the minutes as read.

The minutes of the special meeting of June 17, 1971 read. Moved by Donald

The mimnnts of the Planning Commission meeting of June 21, 1971 read.
Charles Pangier appeared with regard to releasing forfeited tax land. Moved
by Robert Franklin that we release Lot 7, Block 7, Independence Beach.

Mr. Christensen of the Hennepin County Park Reserve appeared with regard to
installing "• marking" signs on #19 and #24. Moved by Robert Franklin that
we recommend a the County post "no parking" signs on that part of #19 south
of Lakeshore Ave. to a point 300 feet south of Perkinsvi a Road and on moth
pt°
sides of County Road 24 from 19 to 300 feet eas*, exceo post any side
of the road where a y landowner has any objections.

Arnold Klaers,Mayer of Loretto, appeared with regard to police protection
for Loretto by our Police Department. Discussed method of reimbursement.
He returned to his Council and will inform the Police Department of any
decision wade.
Moved by Thomas Stevens that we issue an off -sale non -intoxicating malt liquor
license to the Schmid Grocery.

Joseph Holasek and Charles Nolan appeared with an application for a mobile
hhome park. Moved by Robert Franklin to reject the application for a mobile
home park.

Moved by Robert Franklin to approve the fire contracts with the Hamel Volunteer
Fire Department, Loretto Volunteer Fire Department, Long Lake Volunteer Fire
Department and Maple Plain Volunteer Fire Department, effective January 1, 1971

Moved by Thomas Stevens that we maintain Hamel Road from #19 to the Boyer Landfill
property as in the past.

Moved by Arthur Theis to pay the bills as follows: payroll in the amount of
$4,759.98 and order checks in the amount of $14,132.16.

Moved by Robert Franklin to change the per day kennel fee to $2.00 from $150.

Moved by Thomas Stevens to pass . resolution to put on the taxes fire calls
on six properties which were serviced by eitharHamel Volunteer Fire Department,
Loretto Volunteer Fire Department and Long Lake Volunteer Fire Departments,
which calls were paid by the Village of Medinawhich we have not been
reimbursed.

squad car at $45.00.

A copy of the ordinance changing the names of streets of Orono as extended
in to Medina was read. The Clerk is to write the Council to thank them.
A letter from Orono Village advising of a meeting on a joint assessing district
to be 'Teld at Mound Village offices July 8, 1971 at 8 P. M. was read.
