The Wellsburg City Council met in regular session on January 2, 1976, at 8 A.M.
Mayor Hippen'swore in Mayor pro tem Lester Huisman. Huisman administered
the oath
of office to Councilmen , Cordes, Van Deest, Bausman, and
Terfehn, City Clerk
Henry J. Grobe, and City Treasurer Bernerd Harms.
The meeting then recessed until Monday, January 6 at 7:30 P.M.
The council met on January 6 at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Blythe
-residing and all
council members present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved on a
motion by Van Deest,
2nd by Cordes. Carried.
Huisman moved, Cordes seconded allowance of the following bills
for payment:

The treasurer's report was accepted as read on a motion by
Van Deest, 2nd by
Nuisman. .Carried.
Moved by Cordes, 2nd by Van Deest to name Peoples Savings Bank as official
depository bank for city funds 11f1the amount of $200,000. Carried.
Moved by Cordes, 2nd by Bausman to set the following salaries for 1976: City
Clerk-$200 per month, City Treasurer-$170 per year; Leon Abels
$7200 per year with
an increase of $300 per year on attaining Grade,I sewer certification and a $300
yearly increase on completion of water control certification;
hourly rate for city
employees -no less than $2.20 and no more than $3.00 per hour;
and full time employees
are to have two weeks raid vacation. Motion carried.
Meeting recessed. Mayor Blythe left the room and in his absence Mayor pro tem
Huisman presided. I
Moved by Cordes, 2nd by Terfehn to accept the plat dedication of Blythes Second
Addition.- Roll call of voter; --
Ayes --Cordes, Van Deest, Terfehn, Bausman
Nays --None Absent --None Motion Carried.
Mayor Blythe again assumed the chair.
