The meeting was called to order at 10 a.m.
Present were Jim Vachon, Lisa Souve, Don Poole and Charles Sumner.
The minutes of Dec. 22, 2009 were approved as read.
The Information Technology Director, Kathleen Lambert then explained her plan.
The $20,000 in each year is used for the regular upgrading of the Towns
computer system. In 2011 she added extra funds to upgrade the system to
Office 2007. This version is a significant change, and is not interchangeable as
the previous four versions were. Because of that, it makes sense to upgrade
everyone at one time.
Also in 2011 is funding for a new phone system for the Town offices. Something
long overdue. The estimated cost to do this is $50,000. Cape wide networking
for the Town would be much less expensive.
Bob Bersin, the Public Works Superintendent, went through his equipment and
projects list, and explained which items have been completed and which items
were moved or removed, and the reasons why.
The items that cost less then $10,000 will be removed, unless there is insurance
involved. Then they will be kept on the list for information.
Mr. Sumner would like to see the equipment and the projects listed separately in
order to have a clearer picture of money spent on the upkeep and costs of
maintaining the equipment.
