Christmas Trees Collected with Brush Collection
Leesburg, VA (January 15, 2013) – The Town of Leesburg’s Public Works Street Maintenance
Division will collect Christmas trees meeting the collection requirements with brush pickup each
week. Please place Christmas trees at the curb by Monday evening and prepare trees for
collection using the following guidelines:
• Remove all decorations from trees, including tinsel, angel hair and fake snow.
• Remove all lights.
• Remove all twine, string and metal or plastic ties.
• Remove stands and bases.
• Do not place in plastic or “Christmas Tree Disposal” bags.
Brush collection begins on Tuesdays each week and continues until all streets have been
serviced. Please note - during inclement weather, collection may be delayed due to conditions.
Collection will resume as soon as it is safe to do so. Crews make one pass on each street per
week; crews cannot return to pick up material set out after they have completed service for
that location. We cannot take requests for pickups or specify when crews will be in a particular
location. Please contact the Street Maintenance Division if you have any questions or need
additional information.
