HomeMy Public PortalAboutCapital Planning Committee -- 2010-02-11 Minutes Capital Plan Committee
February 11, 2010
Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 10 a.m.
Present were James Vachon, Lisa Vitale, Lisa Souve, Don Poole and Charles
Sumner. Also attending were Keith Gauley, Principal of the Eddy School and
Barry Schofield, Maintenance Supervisor of the Elementary Schools.
The minutes of the previous meeting were discussed and approved. James
Vachon made a motion and Lisa Souve seconded.
Mr. Gauley spoke and told the Committee they have already postponed those
items that can wait, because of the financial situation.
#3, the HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical Maintenance& Repairs (which is the most
essential item on the list), is for both the Eddy and Stony Brook Schools.
Having said that, he proceeded going through the list with the Committee and
changing or postponing some items. Mr. Sumner and Ms. Souve will work on
this schedule so it reflects what Mr. Gauley and Mr. Schofield discussed, and
then present a new schedule to the Committee.
There is still the question as to whether planning will be for both schools or for
one school and a Town Office Building. Mr. Sumner said it would be best if they
planned as though it will be two schools. They should know this summer, since
the Charter School must vacate their building soon.
The Committee then discussed the various department's needs and in what order
to list them. For the Public Works Department, Mr. Sumner favors the idea of
listing them under three categories: Chapter 90 monies, equipment and projects.
There will be changes to the Department of Public Works, Fire Department and
Water Department made by the Committee, and they will want to speak to Paul
Anderson again.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 18th at 10 a.m.
A motion was made to adjourn by Jim Vachon and seconded by Lisa Souve. All
approved and the meeting adjourned at 10:45 a.m.
