Corrected Minutes
Present were Don Poole, who was again elected to be Chairman, Lisa Vitale,
Treasurer/Collector, Lisa Souve, Accountant/Finance Director, James Vachon,
resident. /
This is the first meeting with the new Recreation Director, Ellen Ojala, and she was
introduced to the committee members she had not previously met.
There have been some changes made to their plan. The Commission removed the
Eddy School Irrigation because of changed priorities, and added dock replacement
at Long Pond. The dock needs repairs made every fall and winter to make them
usable and safe, and this is not money well spent. There is a concern of swimmers
getting injured on ladders and the dock due to these unsafe conditions.
The cost of replacing docks and pilings and moorings would be approximately
$26,000 to $30,000, depending on materials used. There are different dock
materials with various benefits and they all fall within the price range quoted. The
E Z Dock has good stability, good resistance to splintering and is able to remain in
the water year round. Ellen distributed pictures of the current dock condition, and
also pictures of the E Z Dock system with sample quotes.
The following projects and equipment listed on the Recreation plan have been
changed: #1 Facility Repairs $25,000 moved to FY 2012 and $25,000 moved to
FY 2015.
#2 The Sailing Program $15,000 has been moved to FY 2014 .
#6 and 7, Vision RS Sailboat at $7,495 each, have been moved to FY 2013.
James Vachon then made the motion to adjourn the meeting and Lisa Souve
second. The committee agreed unanimously.
