RESOLUTION NO.. 74 -1328
A RESOLUTION'.. OF THE CITY COUNCIL.-OF'THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY-ADOPTING A RULE OF- °PARLIAMENTARY
PROCEDURE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE' CITY OF TEMPLE 'CITY DOES RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds and determines that
it is common practice in this and other 'Cities-to adopt routine
motions by the so- called " "no objection" method, i.e., where the
Mayor, after stating th'e:. motion .made and seconded, asks whether
there are any objections and, if none are so voiced, declares
the motion unanimously carried.
SECTION 2. The City Council further finds and declares
that such procedure is advantageous and expedites meetings,
thereby avoiding lengthy roll calls or voice votes.
SECTION 3. The City Council further finds and
determines that each Councilman who has subscribed his name
hereto consents to the rule herein ;.set forth.
SECTION 4. The City Council therefore officially declares
that every Councilman consents to said "no objection" method of
adoption motions, and further agrees that failure to raise an
objection at the proffered time shall be construed to be, and
shall be entered upon the minutes as, a "yes" or affirmative
vote on the motion.
SECTION 5. Any Councilman may inwriting .rescind the
authority granted hereby.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 18th day of December, 1973.
