Memorandum of Agreement
WHEREAS, the City of Tybee Island agrees to provide city property for an Off-Leash Dog Park at Memorial Park
AND
WHEREAS, the Tybee Dog Park Group (TDPG) agrees to maintain and operate the Off-Leash Dog Park within the rules and regulations as outlined in attachment A;
AND
WHEREAS, both parties agree that upon violation of agreed upon rules and regulations the city may rescind this MOA.
ATTACHMENT A
“TDPG” volunteers will provide the following:
Financial responsibility for fencing installation & maintenance
A double-gated entrance (with enough space between gates for dogs and handlers to wait while others are entering and leaving, if possible)
Bag dispensers and bags
Signage
Filling of small holes and general clean-up from uses associated with the off-leash park area
Posted rules that notify all dog handlers of responsibilities associated with the use of the Off-Leash dog park
Contact information for TDPG volunteer so citizens may report activities at the site to help ensure that off-leash park users obey rules, properly supervise and pick up after their
dogs; Citizens can also report other behavioral concerns or other safety problems to the volunteer
To act as a liaison for the community by conducting outreach and educational events aimed at helping dog owners effect the community in a positive manner
City of Tybee agrees to provide:
Use of City property as authorized by Council at 2/24/05 meeting
Trash cans
Personnel to empty trash cans
Hook-up to City Water
