HomeMy Public PortalAbout23-08-08 Resolution: Acceptance and Expenditure of Gifts - Watertown Savings - SNAP Watertown City Council Administration Building • 149 Main Street Watertown, MA 02472 Phone: 617-972-6470 RESOLUTION# S G 2023 — R — S� Resolution approving the Acceptance and Expenditure of Gifts of Funds WHEREAS: From time to time, this community is the beneficiary of a gift donated towards improving the quality and spirit of its inhabitant's lives; and, WHEREAS: The Watertown Savings Bank has committed to a generous gift of funds in the amount of$1,000 for the SNAP match for the Farmers Market; and, WHEREAS: The SNAP Match Program offers customers using SNAP benefits a dollar-for- dollar match on their SNAP purchase, up to S15 per market day. Since established many years ago, the SNAP Match has grown to reach many more food insecure customers each season. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City known as the City of Watertown, hereby accepts and appropriates, pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 44, Section 53A, a gift of$1,000 from Watertown Savings Bank toward for the SNAP match for the Farmers Market.
