Leesburg to Hold Youth Career Expo on March 16, 2013
Leesburg, VA (February 15, 2013) – On Saturday, March 16, 2013, the Town of Leesburg will
hold a Youth Career Expo at ProJet Aviation, located at the Leesburg Executive Airport (957
Sycolin Road SE, Leesburg, VA 20175). The Expo hours will be 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
About 80 to 100 local businesses are expected to participate, and many will be hiring on the
spot for both permanent and summer positions.
“This year’s event is actually the third job fair aimed at recent college and high school
graduates, as well as current high school students, that has been held in Leesburg in recent
years, although it is the first to be sponsored by the Town,” explained Leesburg Town Council
Member Kelly Burk.
Council Member Burk was instrumental in organizing two previous job fairs when she was a
member of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.
“The Expo will focus on career opportunities for young people just entering the work force,”
Ms. Burk continued. “Recent graduates will be able to meet with a variety of local businesses
that are looking for employees. There are tremendous entry‐level job opportunities in Leesburg
and Loudoun County, but often young people don’t know where to start. The Expo will help
them get their foot in the door.”
In addition to the chance to meet face‐to‐face with prospective employers, the Expo will offer
attendees interview skills and resume writing workshops.
“The Youth Career Expo is a win‐win proposition for both job seekers and businesses,”
commented Marantha Edwards, Leesburg’s Economic Development Director. “Based on
attendance at the previous events, participating businesses can expect to see several hundred
prospective employees.”

Entry to the Youth Career Expo for job seekers is free. Attendees should wear business attire
and bring copies of their resume. Businesses interested in participating should contact Doug
