COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, SEPTEMBER 5, 2017
CALL TO ORDER
The City Council “Pre-Meeting” of September 5, 2017, was convened at 5:45 P.M. by
Mayor Carrie Tergin.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Fitzwater, Graham, Henry, Hussey, Kemna, Mihalevich, Prather,
Schreiber, and Ward
Absent: Wiseman
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Amendments to Agenda – Mayor Tergin requested that the Council amend the
agenda at adoption to move item 7(b) pertaining to updates on the Texas H urricane
efforts to item 4(b). Councilman Graham would make a presentation on Red Cross
efforts, and also Mayor Tergin stated she would like to recognize a six-year-old boy for
his efforts to raise funds for victims of the hurricane.
Resolution RS2017-8 (Endorsing Historic Southside Old Munichburg District) – City
Counselor Ryan Moehlman explained that the Law Department would like to research
this issue as it related to how the procedures are governed by state law. He advised
that proceeding with the public hearing at tonight’s meeting would not pose any
problems, but he requested that the Council postpone any action on RS2017 -8 for an
indefinite period until this matter could be researched further. Councilman Graham
stated he would be prepared to make a motion to do that.
