1. Mayor Pro Tem Harker called the adjourned meeting of the City
Council to order at 7:30 P. M.
. ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Councilmen- Beckley, Harker, Merritt
ABSENT: Councilmen - Briggs, Tyrell
ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Martin and City Manager Koski
Mayor Tyrell arrived at 7:35 P. M. and assumed the chair.
3. RESOLUTION NO. 67 -696: Confirming Planning Commission denial
of Variance Case #66 -200, Rosalie Masciangelo, 5615 N. Noel Dr.
City Attorney Martin presented Resolution No. 67 -696 A
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
CONFIRMING RESOLUTION NO. 66 -232PC AND DENYING A VARIANCE IN
ZONE VARIANCE CASE NO. 66 -200. Councilman Beckley moved to
adopt Resolution No. 67 -696, Councilman Merritt seconded,
and the motion was carried by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen - Beckley, Harker, Merritt
NOES: Councilmen -None
ABSENT: Councilmen- Briggs, Tyrell
4. RESOLUTION NO. 67 -695: reversing Planning Commission Denial
and Granting Variance, Case #66 -203, Heath & Co., 9635 Las
Tunas Dr.
City Attorney Martin presented Resolution No. 67 -695 A RESO-
LUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY REVERS-
ING RESOLUTION NO. 66 -234PC OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND
GRANTING A VARIANCE. Councilman Harker moved to adopt Resolu-
tion No. 67 -695, Councilman Beckley seconded, and the motion
was carried by the following called vote:
AYES: Councilmen - Beckley, Harker, Tyrell
NOES: Councilmen- Merritt
ABSENT: Councilman- Briggs
5. AGREEMENT: Between Chamber of Commerce and City
The City Attorney presented the above agreement for Council
consideration. Following discussion and a few changes to the
document Councilman Beckley moved to forward the Agreement to
the Chamber for their execution and return to the Council, and
to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign on behalf of the
City at that time, Councilman Merritt seconded, and the motion
was unanimously carried.
The City Attorney and City Manager will schedule a meeting with
the President of the Chamber and explain in full the details
of the Agreement.
6. ORDINANCE NO. 67 -219: 1st reading
City Attorney Martin presented Ordinance No. 67 -219 AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF
SECTION 6300 OF THE TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
BUSINESS LICENSES. Councilman Merritt moved to waive further
reading of Ordinance No. 67 -219, Councilman Beckley seconded,
and the motion carried unanimously. No further action was
taken as this was the first reading of the ordinance.
8. ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Merritt moved to recess to a study
session with the Planning Commission, and to then adjourn to
the next regular meeting on Febr. 7, 1967, at 7 :30 P. M. in
the Council Chambers, 5938 Kauffman Ave., Temple City, Council-
man Beckley seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Council adjourned at 8 :50 P. M.
