HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 1990-03-02 Supporting the 1990 Census and Encouraging All Residents of the Town of Fraser to Participate in the Census Count TOWN OF FRASER RESOLUTION NO. 1990-3-2 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE 1990 CENSUS AND ENCOURAGING ALL RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN OF FRASER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CENSUS COUNT. WHEREAS, the Twentieth United States Decennial Census of Population and Housing will be conducted on April 1, 1990, AND WHEREAS, all inhabitants of the Town of Fraser are to be enumerat~d in this census, AND WHEREAS, the information collected in the census serves many useful purposes among which are apportionment of representation in Congress and other legislative bodies, measurement of the economic well-being of communities and their inhabitants, allotment of certain Federal and State tax revenues and other financial aid to our communities, determination of future needs for public services, and numerous other useful purposes, AND WHEREAS, the accuracy and completeness of the census for the Town of Fraser will determine its population rank among other communities of the country, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF FRASER: THAT, April 1, 1990 is hereby proclaimed as CENSUS DAY in Fraser and we urge and implore all residents to cooperate fully during the months of March and April with those who are charged with the responsibility of this most important work.
