Coordinatar's Report Presentations to the I larwich, Orleans and Chatham Boards of Selectmen went well }-tarry cntntncntcd that the Orleans Board seemed very attentive and interested in the reports, and supportive of on-gains water quality monitoring efforts. Larry said the I Iarwich Board is supportive c>f the Alliance and any assistance it can bring to bear, such as the work on Muddy Creek, that addresses the town's funding pressures. The committee discussed alternate approaches to addressing the potential for itnpravcment dredging. It was agreed that an approaci~ that calls for a moditicatic~n oi'the AC:'EC. boundary or designation is undesirable. A preferable approach would be to make improvement dredging subject to an approved resource management plan, similar to how docks are treated. The plan could specify areas or conditions under which improvement dredging could proceed ii'necdcd. 1'he NUr1 application is in the process.
