HomeMy Public PortalAbout07/16/2013 Special CCMSPECIAL MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF July 16, 2013 The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on July16, 2013 at 6:02 p.m. in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Weir presided. I. ROLL CALL Members present: Martin, Anderson, Pederson and Weir. Members absent: Martinson Also present: City Attorney Ron Batty, Police Chief Ed Belland, City Planner Dusty Finke, Public Works Director Steve Scherer, Finance Director Joe Rigdon, Assistant Finance Director Erin Barnhart, and City Administrator Scott Johnson. (City Attorney Ron Batty, City Planner Dusty Finke, Attorney George Hoff, Attorney Justin Templin and City Administrator Scott Johnson were present during Closed Session) II. Closed Session — Pending Litigation The meeting adjourned to closed session at 6:02 p.m. to discuss pending litigation. The meeting reconvened to open session at 6:37 p.m. III. 2014 Budget — Utilities and Capital Improvement Plan Finance Director Joe Rigdon provided information on the Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Funds for 2014. Charges for all three funds will increase by approximately 3%. Finance Director Joe Rigdon also reviewed the draft 2014 -2018 Capital Improvement Plan. Staff noted the addition of $20,000 for the purchase of a City Hall vehicle, a place holder in 2018 of $1.4 million for the Water Treatment Plant Expansion, and a place holder of $2.6 million for a future Water Tower. Finally, Finance Director Joe Rigdon reviewed the breakdown of assets provided in the packet for the Hamel Fire Department. IV.
