HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 959 - Appropriation Ordinance FY 18 BudgetORDINANCE NO. 959 AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED THE FY18 ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2017, APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $23,748,175 TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF McCALL FOR SAID FISCAL YEAR, AUTHORIZING A LEVY OF A SUFFICIENT TAX. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McCALL, VALLEY COUNTY, STATE OF IDAHO: SECTION 1. TITLE: This Ordinance shall be entitled and cited as the "FY18 Annual Appropriation Ordinance of the City of McCall." SECTION 2. FINDINGS: The City Council finds: A. As required by law, the city has duly noticed and held a public hearing on the loth day of August, 2017 for a proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 (FY18) for the City of McCall, Idaho; and B. That the sum of $23,748,175 be, and the same is, appropriated to defray the necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of McCall, Valley County, State of Idaho for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2017. C. That the appropriations and sums of money as are hereinafter set forth in Section 3 are deemed necessary to defray all the necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of McCall for FY18. SECTION 3. ADOPTION OF THE BUDGET AND APPROPRIATION OF EXPENDITURE: The City Council hereby adopts the budget and the appropriation of expenditures for the City of McCall, Idaho, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2017, and ending September 30, 2018 the objects for which such appropriation is made, and the amount of each object and purpose is as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 959 Passage Date August 24, 2017 1 of 3 APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FY18 BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO ESTIMATED EXPENDITURES: GENERAL FUND Mayor and Council $344,156 Info Systems $399,223 City Manager $369,788 Administrative Costs $320,083 Finance Department $431,433 Clerk Department $239,053 Local Option Tax Department $508,131 Community Development $685,304 Police Department $1,549,868 Parks $647,418 Grants $75,525 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) $1,385,899 Contingency $324,805 GENERAL FUND TOTAL $7,280,686 Streets/Public Works Fund $2,492,802 Library Fund $574,728 Recreation Fund $1,523,230 Airport Fund $4,202,713 Local Option Tax — Streets $3,540,934 Golf Fund $1,134,019 Water Fund $2,999,063 SPECIAL REVENUE & ENTERPRISE FUND EXPENDITURES $16,467,489 TOTAL PROPOSED EXPENDITURES $23,748,175 SECTION 4. TAX LEVY: That a general tax levy on all taxable property within the City of McCall be levied in an amount allowed by law for the general purposes for said City, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2017. SECTION 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. The City Clerk is directed to forthwith publish this Ordinance and file a certified copy of the same with the office of the Secretary of State of the State of Idaho as provided in I.C. §50-1003 and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force upon its passage, approval and publication in one issue of The Star -News, a newspaper for general circulation of the City of McCall, and the official newspaper of said City.
