made by Mr. -Faulkner and seconded by Mr. Hart, it was decided that
Mr. Whitman be permitted to allow t'he Americana Hotel to park on
the unpaved portion of his. property for the one night of April 12th.
The vote was unanimous.
The matter of Ordinances for Districts was tabled as Mr..Anderson
said he had not had sufficient time to work up the ordinances.
Mayor Brown announced that the next item. would be handled by, the,
Zoning.Board and,they discussed a request by Harry Tolton for a zoning
variance. Mr. Iolton requested that he be permitted to screen,in.his.
"swimming pool at 172,Camden Drive. This involves building over the
'rear set back area a distance of 5 feet. Mr. Broeman moved and'Mr. Hart
seconded .a motion that the Village Zoning Board review -Mr,. Iolton;!s
'pool .tdda,y and take such steps as are necessary.'. Mr. Faulkner: W 's.'ap=
:`pointed to represent the Village Zoning Board to go to Mr. Tolton's
residence today and inspect his pool.
Mr. Webb brought up the subject of patching some paving;,work
' Fthat needed to be,done. Mr. Council told him to go ahead ands :have
this work done.
There being no further business before the Council, Mr. Fau,-1$ner
made a'motion that the meeting 'be adjourned.. Mr. Hart seconded this
motion and the meeting was adjourned.

Village met at 9:30,o "clock :Saturday
Hall.
There were present: Messrs. Beatty, Broeman, Brown and Harts.
Absent: Mr. Fred Faulkner.
Also present were W. H. Webb, Village Manager; Mary'Wetterer,
Village Clerk; and Thomas H. Anderson Village Attorney.
The minutes of the previous meeting of March 15, 1958 were ac-
cepted as submitted on motion of Mr. Hart and seconded by Mr. Broeman.
Mr. Webb advised the Council that he had received three bids on the
apartment for the Maintenance Man, the low bid being $8,500.00 and the
high bid $80690.00. Mr. Harry Talton was the low bidder,' and he.
.had also..submitted alternate plans which; would effect some savings._ "
Mr. Hart moved that the Council accept the plans as submitted and
authorize- .Mr. .Webb to. go. ahead with the "construction
: of the apartment. f
r This "was seconded by Mr. Beatty and voted unanimously. Mt. .Hart then`
made .a motion that the Council accept the bid of.Harry Tolton, of not
'more than $8,500.00 and any other savings that.can be effected to be
paid for by the unused Bonds from the Village Hall Construction and
Pumping Station and the balance from Surplus. Mr. Beatty seconded this
motion and when put to a vote, was voted unanimously.
Mayor -Brown then suggested that.Mr. Larry Tisch, one of the owners
of; the Americana Hotel be heard. Mr. Tisch outlined his problems with
1ar9 e..conventions,and. wanted to know if he could'use the lower parking
area at the .Americana, garage for exhibition space, f "or.an occasional"
conventilonj .provided he made ".the necessary alterations to conforms with
the Fire ,Code. He stated that they are in the process "of completing a
md.',s'terplan, for a -4 story parking ram.p.to accommodate between 180 ands'
�'2fj$ ` "cars,, and an addition of 140 to.150 rooms, (these rooms being.in
addition to the 100.rooms being added at present). Mr., Tisch wanted to

e#ib tions. Mr. Webb said he would have ".to provide a parking space

A.letter was then read by Mr. Webb from the Sea View Hotel request -
ing that,a permit. be issued to the Sea View Hotel to lease its outdoor
parking -space to the Americana Hotel for the summer months. Mr. Beatty
moved that the`Sea View Hotel be permitted to make a "contract with the

Amricana -for use of their parking facilities during the summer months.
Th%s motion was seconded by Mrl-Hart and was passed unanimously.

Mr. Webb read the Ordinance dividing the Village into Voting
Districts in acordance with the Charter Amendment and thereupon on
motion made by "cMr. Hart and seconded by Mr. Broeman,

Mayor Brown appointed Mr. Broeman to work on A, C om6itiee with
Mr., Faulkner, together With the City Manager, to see what, can be accompl

south of Bakers Haulover. It was decided that Mr. Webb, should` send a,

Mr. Webb explained the revised Offense Ordinance. Thereupon on

The matter of the Temporary Building on Tract "C" of the•Ocean-
front was tabled until next month.
The matter of the South Florida Builder's Code was, defeir'ed until
next month.
Mro Webb read the Six Month's Audit and Mr. Beatty moved that the

Mr. Webb read a letter fron the Dade County Tax Asses&or.4 John
7, Gautier, requesting that the -Village Assessor be allowed 'to .]make all,
Village records available to his office for an overall reassessment of
taxes In Dade County. Mayor Brown.recommended that this request be com-
plied with.
The matter of signs at the Harbour Club Apartments, owned by Mr*
Jahn Bauer, came up and Mayor Brown requested Mr. Webb to write to Mr.
Bauert informing him that the signs do not conform, to the Village'-Ordinances,
and requesting Mr. Bauer to contact Mr. Webb to discuss the matter*
There being no further business, Mr. Hari moved that the meeting
be adjourned. Seconded by Mr'. Broeman and passed unanimously.
