Composed of 15 member organizations (listed below) representing a broad cross-section of MSD’s customers and the community it serves, the Rate Commission is designed to provide public input into how rates are set. The commission is required by charter to review all rate proposals, seek public feedback, and submit a recommendation to MSD’s Board of Trustees before any rate changes occur. Feb. 26, 2015 MSD community (dates/times listed at www.stlmsd.com/ ratecommission) Rate Commission public hearings seeking public feedback (dates/times listed below) Deadline for Rate Commission recommendation to Board of Trustees (165 days from rate proposal submission, with 45 day extension) MSD formally presented the rate proposal to Rate Commission MSD submitted rate proposal to Rate Commission March 4, 2015 March/April 2015 May -July 2015 Aug. 10, 2015 Submit formal comments to the Rate Commission by July 10, 2015, for consideration in their process. The process began when a rate change proposal was formally submitted to MSD Rate Commission by MSD staff on Thursday, Februar y 26, 2015. Over the next several months, the Rate Commission will review the proposal and hold hearings to gather public input. The Rate Commission process includes multiple public hearings, held at various locations throughout proposal. All of these hearings are open to the public.
