HomeMy Public PortalAboutProposition S At-a-Glance FINAL March 19Proposition S: At-A-Glance Proposition S is a measure on the April 2, 2019 ballot for voters of St. Louis City and County. If passed, it would generate $30 million annually to allow the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) to address many flooding and erosion problems across our region. MSD has identified approximately 500 stormwater issues throughout its service area that are categorized as flooding and erosion. The funds would be collected as a stormwater rate charge for all public and private property within MSD’s service area. The amount paid will be determined by the amount of “impervious surface area” – or surfaces, such as concrete, that do not absorb rainwater – a property has. For the average, single-family homeowner the annual charge will be $27 per year, or $2.25 per month. Interested in learning more about Proposition S?
