AN ORDINANCE to appropriate the sum of Twenty Thousand
($20,000.00) Dollars out of the Improvement Fund for the con-
struction of lateral sewers paralleling Page Boulevard and cross-
ing Page Boulevard, such appropriation to be hereafter reimbursed
out of collection of special benefit assessment or special tax
bills to be issued by the District, with an emergency clause.
WHEREAS, due to the widening of Page Boulevard by the
State Highway Department, and the construction of new pavement
thereon, the cost of installing sewers crossing said highway and
running parallel thereto will be greatly increased unless such
sewers are installed prior to the doing of such work by the State
Highway Department. And it is essential that such sewers be
installed as cheaply as possible, which can be accomplished only
by the immediate installation of such sewers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. There is hereby appropriated out of the
Improvement Fund the sum of Twenty Thousand ($20,000.00) Dollars
for the purpose of paying for the construction of an eight inch
pipe sewer under Page Boulevard at the intersection of Page
Boulevard and Walton Road, and southwardly along Walton Road, a
distance of 270 feet more or less from the northwest corner of the
intersection of Walton Road and Page Boulevard; and for
the construction of an eight inch lateral sewer paralleling and
along the southerly margin of Page Boulevard from a point 70 feet
more or less from the intersection of Ermes Drive and Page
Boulevard eastwardly, a distance of 594 feet more or less; and an
eight inch lateral sewer beginning at the existing manhole in the
sixteen inch sewer on the north side of Page Boulevard on the line
built to the Merchants Refrigerating Company extending westwardly
from said manhole, a distance of 315 feet more or less; also
beginning at an existing manhole near the north line of Page
Boulevard in the twelve inch pipe sewer serving Merchants
Refrigerating Company and extending eastwardly a distance of 920
feet more or less, and the Executive Director is authorized and
directed to enter into a contract for such construction
immediately in order that each of said sewers may be installed
prior to the improvement of Page Boulevard by the State Highway
Department.
Section Two. This Ordinance being an appropriation
Ordinance, it shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 20, 1956.
