AN ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Executive
Director and the Director of Finance to purchase for the
District from the City of St. Louis certain automobiles, trucks,
movable equipment and other surplus personal property of the City
of St. Louis used for the construction, maintenance and operation
of the sewer system within the City of St. Louis and certain real
estate in the City of St. Louis, and belonging to the City of St.
Louis, located in City Block No. 1716N and City Block No. 4636N,
and containing an emergency clause.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Executive Director and the Director of
Finance are hereby authorized and directed to purchase for the
District from the City of St. Louis at a price not to exceed Two
Hundred Seventy Thousand Dollars ($270,000.00) certain
automobiles, trucks, movable equipment and other surplus personal
property of the City of St. Louis used for the construction,
maintenance and operation of the sewer system within the City of
St. Louis ,and the following described parcels of real estate in
the City of St. Louis, as follows:
"Parcel No. 1, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 24, 25, 26 and 27 of
Gamble's Third Addition to the west end in City Block 1716N
of the City of St. Louis and including a portion of an alley
vacated by Ordinance No. 40832, also an interest in a 10-foot
alley adjoining to the south the aforesaid Lots 1, 2, 3, 4

and 5 and more particularly described as follows: Beginning
at the point of intersection of the south line of Clark
Avenue and the west line of 23rd Street, thence westwardly
254 feet 2 inches, more or less, along the south line of
Clark Avenue to a point, thence southwardly 140 feet, more or
less, to a point in the north line of the east-west alley 20
feet in width, thence eastwardly 100 feet along the north
line of the 20 foot east-west alley to the point of inter-
section of the north line of the 20 foot east-west alley and
the west line of a 20 foot north-south alley, thence
northwardly 20 feet, more or less, along the west line of
said 20 foot north-south alley to a point, thence eastwardly
154 feet 2 inches, more or less, to a point in the west line
of 23rd Street, thence northwardly 120 feet, more or less,
along the west line of 23rd Street to the point of beginning.
Parcel No. 2. A parcel of land in City Block 4636N of the
City of St. Louis and being part of Lot 12 of the D. W.
Graham's Subdivision of the Sulphur Spring tract and more
particularly described as follows:
Bounded on the north by the 100 foot right-of-way of the St. Louis
and San Francisco Railroad Company, on the east by the west
line of Sulphur Avenue 30 feet in width, on the west by the
east line of Hampton Avenue 80 feet in width and on the south
by land now or formerly owned by the Laclede Christy
Company."

Section Two. The Executive Director and the Director of
Finance are hereby authorized to accept delivery of a bill of sale
from the City of St. Louis to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District transferring certain automobiles, trucks, movable
equipment and other surplus personal property of the City of St.
Louis used for the construction, maintenance and operation of the
sewer system within the City of St. Louis and to accept delivery
of a quit-claim deed to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District
of the real property described in Section One, above, upon payment
hereby authorized to the City of St. Louis of the sum of not more
than Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) and upon execution
by them and delivery of a contract, hereby authorized, for the
payment to the City of St. Louis of Seventy Thousand Dollars
($70,000.00) within two years from the date of accepting delivery
of such bill of sale and quit-claim deed.
Section Three. This ordinance being deemed necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety
constitutes an emergency within the meaning of the Plan, and this
ordinance shall be and become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
