AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming a settlement of
accounts between the District and the City of St. Louis, each
against the other, for the period from January 1, 1956 through
June 30, 1958 and authorizing the Director of Finance to give
effect to said settlement by offsetting the amount owed by such
City to the District against the amount owed by the District to
such City and to pay to such City the difference in the sum of
Twenty-five Thousand Five Hundred Seventeen Dollars and Ninety-
five cents ($25,517.95), with an emergency clause.
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and the officials of
the City of St. Louis have agreed upon the values of the services
performed by the District for such City and by such City for the
District from January 1, 1956 through June 30, 1958 and on the
remaining balance due to such City for the purchase of property by
the District as authorized by District Ordinance No. 195, and
WHEREAS, statements of the agreed values of each of
such services have been presented to the Board of Trustees of the
District and to the Board of Estimate and Apportionment of such
City, and settlement on the basis of said statements has been
approved by said Board of Estimate and Apportionment,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. Settlement of the accounts of The Metro-
politan St. Louis Sewer District with the City of St. Louis for
the period January 1, 1956 through June 30, 1958 on the following
basis is hereby approved and confirmed, to wit:
Amounts owed by District $123,445.82
Amounts owed to District 97,927.87
Net Amount owed by District $ 25,517.95
Section Two. The Director of Finance is hereby
authorized and directed to effect said settlement by cash payment
in the sum of Twenty-five Thousand Five Hundred Seventeen Dollars
and Ninety-five cents ($25,517.95) in exchange for a receipt and
full release from said City of all claims for such period, to
charge such cash payment against an existing appropriation to City
Maintenance, Capital Outlay Account No. 1-1062-300, and thereafter
to make appropriate adjustment of all accounts affected by such
settlement.
Section Three. The immediate need of effecting settle-
ment with the City of St. Louis creates an emergency within the
meaning of the Plan and this Ordinance shall be and become
effective immediately upon its adoption.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 17, 1958
