Leesburg Today Returns to Downtown Leesburg
Newspaper will offer tours of new offices during Flower & Garden Festival
Leesburg, VA (April 11, 2013) – Mayor
Kristen Umstattd and other members of the
Leesburg Town Council joined Loudoun
County Board of Supervisors Chairman Scott
York, Leesburg Supervisor Ken Reid and
Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce
President and CEO Tony Howard at an April
5th ribbon‐cutting ceremony for the new
Leesburg Today offices at 19 North King
Street, celebrating the newspaper’s return to
downtown Leesburg.
After a nine‐month renovation of the 200‐
year‐old building by PR Construction and
building owner Fianna Investments, the
newspaper moved into the 4,500‐square‐foot office in January 2013. The location also is the
headquarters for Leesburg Today’s parent company, Northern Virginia Media Services, which
publishes the Sun Gazette newspapers in Fairfax and Arlington counties and Prince William
Today. The company’s online services generate more than 1.5 million monthly pageviews.
“It is great to be back downtown, not far from where the company first set up shop 25 years
ago,” editor and publisher Norman K. Styer said. “It also is gratifying to play a role in the
preservation of an important part of Leesburg’s streetscape. Following the work that was done
last year, this building is well prepared for the next two centuries.”
"Having Leesburg Today, back in Downtown Leesburg is a good thing on so many levels
including being at the center of the community, literally,” commented Marantha Edwards,
Leesburg’s Economic Development Director. “The entire organization brings energy and buying
power to Downtown."
