AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and
the Secretary-Treasurer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to purchase from the owner thereof, for a general office
and main headquarters of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District, a tract of land in the City of St. Louis, Missouri of
3.414 acres, with improvements thereon, for a total sum of Five
Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars ($585,000.00), of which
Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) has previously been
deposited with the seller under the terms of an earnest money
contract authorized under the provisions of Ordinance No. 360 of
the District, and containing an emergency clause.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METRO-
POLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Executive Director and the Secretary-
Treasurer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District shall be
and are hereby authorized and directed to purchase from the owner
thereof, for a general office and main headquarters of The Metro-
politan St. Louis Sewer District, a tract of land in the City of
St. Louis, Missouri described as follows, to wit:

A tract of land in Block 4636-N of the City of St. Louis,
being part of Lot 12 of D.W. GRAHAM'S SUBDIVISION and
described as beginning at a point in the Eastern line of
Hampton Avenue, 80 feet wide, distant 348.07 feet North of
its intersection with the Northern line of Wilson Avenue, 40
feet wide, thence Northwardly 595.07 feet along the Eastern
line of Hampton Avenue along a curve to the right having a
radius of 971.49 feet to a point of tangency, thence
continuing North 8 degrees 30 minutes East 115.85 feet along
the Eastern line of Hampton Avenue, thence South 63 degrees
43-1/2 minutes East 207.56 feet, thence South 13 degrees 43-
1/4 minutes East 372.88 feet, thence South 21 degrees 43
minutes 05 seconds East 95.00 feet, thence South 57 degrees
17 minutes 22 seconds West 278.92 feet to the point of
beginning and containing 3.414 acres, according to a survey
made by Pitzman's Company of Surveyors & Engineers on March
18th, 1953 and resurveyed on February 8th, 1954.
Section Two. Upon the execution and delivery to them
by the said owner of a warranty deed in proper form, being free
from liens and encumbrances, conveying fee simple title to the
said land to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the
Executive Director and the Secretary-Treasurer shall be and are

hereby authorized and directed to pay to the said owner, for the
said land, the total sum of Five Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand
Dollars ($585,000.00) out of the Real Property Purchase Account
No. 7-1042.
Section Three. The purchase of this property being a
necessity to properly carry out the functions of this District and
the necessity for acquiring this property immediately constitutes
an emergency within the meaning of the Plan and this Ordinance
shall therefore take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was passed on March 18, 1960.
