An Ordinance vacating portions of sewer easements in
the City of St. Louis, Missouri,
WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis has abandoned the
streets and alleys as described herein; and
WHEREAS, the St. Louis Housing Authority and Land
Clearance for Redevelopment Authority have requested this District
to vacate such easements and have granted the District
satisfactory substitute easements; and
WHEREAS, the St. Louis Housing Authority and Land
Clearance for Redevelopment Authority propose to have satisfactory
substitute sewers constructed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District
hereby vacates its easement for sewer purposes in the strips of
ground described as follows:
Theresa Avenue from the North line of Forest Park
Avenue to the South line of Laclede Avenue.
Walnut Street from Theresa Avenue to Ranken Avenue.
East-West alley in City Block 2223 extending from
Ranken Avenue to Theresa Avenue.
Ranken Avenue from the North line of Forest Park Avenue
to the South line of Laclede Avenue, excepting that portion of
such easement as set forth in instrument granted by the Land
Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of the City of St. Louis,
dated February 17, 1960, and recorded in Book 8056 page 245 of the
City of St. Louis Records, which portion of easement is retained.
East-West alley in City Block 2224 extending from
Channing Avenue to Ranken Avenue; and the North-South alley in
said City Block extending from Forest Park Avenue to said East-
West alley.
Channing Avenue from the North line of Forest Park
Avenue to the South line of Laclede Avenue.
East-West alley in City Block 2225 extending from
Leonard Avenue to Channing Avenue, and the North-South alley in
said City Block extending from Forest Park Avenue to said East-
West alley.
Section Two. The aforesaid vacation of easements in
Section One shall not be deemed an abandonment of sewers therein
that must remain in operation until satisfactory substitute sewers
are constructed and put into operation without expense to the
District, nor abandonment of the portion of easement in Ranken
Avenue between Laclede and Forest Park Avenues which is set forth
in the aforesaid instrument granted by the Land Clearance for
Redevelopment Authority of the City of St. Louis, dated February
17, 1960.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted April 27, 1960.
