HomeMy Public PortalAbout00417 O R D I N A N C E NO. 417 AN ORDINANCE to extend the boundaries of The Metro- politan St. Louis Sewer District to include an area of St. Louis County which could be efficiently served by the sewer and drainage facilities of the District. WHEREAS, petitions to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District have been received from the majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area therein; and WHEREAS, this area adjoins and is primarily in a watershed within The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and can drain all of its sanitary sewage into sewers within the District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. That the Board finds that the sewer facilities of the District can efficiently serve the area described as follows: Beginning at a point, which point is the northernmost corner of a 40 acre tract now or formerly of Emelie K. Rauscher, which 40 acre tract was acquired by instruments recorded in Book 1306 page 563 and Book 1319 page 57 of the St. Louis County Records, and which point is also the easternmost corner of property conveyed to Francis Meyer et al by instrument recorded as Daily No. 8, June 11, 1956 in the St. Louis County Records, said point of beginning also being a point on the existing boundary of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence northwestwardly along the northeast 2 boundary of said Meyer property to the northernmost corner thereof, which is also the easternmost corner of property conveyed to John Knobbe by instrument recorded in Book 1210 page 384; thence northwestwardly along the northeast line of said Knobbe property and said northeast line extended northwestwardly to its intersection with the centerline of Shackelford Road; thence southwestwardly along said centerline of Shackelford Road to its intersection with the southeastwardly prolongation of the northeastern line of property now or formerly of Francis Duffy and which was granted to said Francis Duffy by instrument recorded in Book 2314 page 610 of the St. Louis County Records, which line is also the southwestern line of property now or formerly of B. H. and Angela Gruenloh; thence northwestwardly along said southeast extension and along said lot line a distance of 3594.85 feet northwest of the northwest line of said Shackelford Road to a point; thence southwestwardly along a line parallel with the northwest line of Shackelford Road a distance of 1139 feet, more or less, to the southwest line of said Duffy property, which is also the northeast line of property now or formerly of Frank W. Gittemeier; thence northwestwardly along the said northeast line of Gittemeier property to the northernmost corner of said Gittemeier property; thence southwestwardly along the northwest line of said Gittemeier property and along said northwest line extended southwestwardly to the southwest line of the Union Electric Company Right of Way; thence northwestwardly along 3 the southwest line of said Right of Way to its intersection with the northwest line of Share "B" of Graham's Subdivision, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Mo.; thence southwestwardly along said northwest line of Share "B" to the westernmost corner thereof; thence southeastwardly along the southwest line of said Share "B" to its intersection with the northernmost corner of property now or formerly owned by John J. Kramer as recorded in Book 2418 page 58 of the St. Louis County Records, which corner is also a point on the existing boundary line of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; thence generally southeastwardly, and northeastwardly along the existing boundary line of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to the point of beginning. Section Two. That the petitions praying for annexation were signed by the majority of the owners of the land in said area who own more than one-half of the land area of the area to be served. Section Three. The corporate boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District are hereby extended so as to include the above-described area. Section Four. Certified copies of this ordinance shall be filed in the offices of the Recorder of Deeds of St. Louis County, the Recorder of Deeds of the City of St. Louis, and the Secretary of State. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 16, 1960.
