HomeMy Public PortalAbout00455SEE ALSO 995 AND 1240 AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1057, 1087 AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1373 & 1681 & 1747 O R D I N A N C E NO. 455 AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance No. 176, adopted January 31, 1958, Section Three of Ordinance No. 184, adopted March 24, 1958, Section Two of Ordinance No. 263, adopted March 5, 1959, and Section Two of Ordinance.No. 421, adopted June 24, 1960, and enacting a new ordinance in lieu thereof relating to the same subject and fixing the compensation of the Executive Director, the Secretary-Treasurer, the Director of Finance, the General Counsel and the respective Directors of the Personnel, Subdistrict Development, Engineering, Maintenance and Construction Departments, and containing an emergency clause. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METRO- POLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. Ordinance Number 176, as adopted January 31, 1958, Section Three of Ordinance No. 184, as adopted March 24, 1958, Section Two of Ordinance No. 263, as adopted March 5, 1959, and Section Two of Ordinance No. 421, as adopted June 24, 1960, are hereby repealed. Section Two. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of the Executive Director shall be at the rate of not less than $12,000.00 nor more than $25,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly installments. Section Three. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of 2 the Secretary-Treasurer shall be at the rate of not less than $10,000.00 nor more than $20,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly installments. Section Four. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of the Director of Finance shall be not less than $10,000.00 nor more than $20,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly installments. Section Five. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of the General Counsel shall be not less than $12,000.00 nor more than $25,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly install- ments. Section Six. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of the Director of the Personnel Department shall be not less than $9,000.00 nor more than $14,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly installments. Section Seven. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of the Director of the Subdistrict Development Department shall be not less than $9,000.00 nor more than $14,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly installments. Section Eight. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of the Director of the Engineering Department shall be not less than $10,000.00 nor more than $16,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly installments. Section Nine. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of the Director of the Maintenance Department shall be not less 3 than $9,000.00 nor more than $14,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly installments. Section Ten. Effective October 15, 1960, the salary of the Director of the Construction Department shall be not less than $9,000.00 nor more than $14,000.00 per annum, payable in equal semi-monthly installments. Section Eleven. Payment of the salaries of each position herein, except those of the Executive Director and the Secretary-Treasurer, shall be authorized by the Executive Director within the limits herein fixed; PROVIDED, that the salary of persons occupying such positions, or any of them, shall not by the adoption of this ordinance be reduced below the salary such person is receiving at the effective date of this ordinance. Section Twelve. The increase in the cost of living and the necessity for adjustment of salaries and wages to meet such increased cost of living and the consequent hardship on employees at the District incident thereto creates an emergency within the meaning of the Plan and this Ordinance shall be and become effective immediately upon its adoption. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 7, 1960.
