PROPERTY TAX CANCELLATION AND REFUND
WHEREAS, Block 133, Lot 6, Assessed to Manuel Aspres for
property located at 66 Charles Street received an added tax
bill in the amount of $902.94 due November 1, 1995, and
WHEREAS, the Tax Assessor indicated that the added assessment
placed upon the records was made in error, and
WHEREAS, upon discovery, the Tax Assessor has made the
necessary corrections to the 1996 tax records to reflect the
proper assessed valuations, and
to avoid tax sale proceedings, taxpayer Manuel
Aspres has tendered full payment in the amount of $1,003.25,
representing $902.94 in taxes and $100.31 in interest, and
has submitted a letter requesting a correction be,~ade to
this account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of
the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, that .~he Tax
Collector cancel the erroneously assessed 1995 taxes in the
amount of $902.94 and interest in the amount of $100.31.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that out of the $1,003.25 payment
cancellation, $739.49 will be applied by the Tax Collector
towards 1996 taxes and $263.76 will be refunded to the
homeowner.
Adopted this 5th day of September, 1996
and certified as a true copy of the
original on September 6, 1996.
